No date yet for SB 62. Might be the NCAAs fault

So there is still no date for Super Bowl 62. February 2028 in Atlanta.

Some have speculated that its due to the NFL wanting to expand to 18 games (20 week) schedule for the 2027 season. However experts say the transition is unlikely to happen that quickly.

I think its because the NCAA is currently in talks of removing Week 0 from the schedule and simply making that week 1. Giving all teams 2 bye weeks. Meaning the Conference championship will be week 15 not 14.

How does that effect the NFL?

Since 2000. Week 1 of college football was always Labor Day Weekend. While week 1 of the NFL was the fallowing week.

So if the NCAA stays as is with week 0. Or removes week 0 but keeps week 1 labor day.

Super Bowl would be Feb 13.

If the NCAA removes week 0 and puts week 1 the week before labor day. The NFL will want to capitalize on labor day. Not giving the NCAA 2 weeks to itself.

The superbowl would be February 6th.

But if the NFL some how does go to 18 games. The superbowl could be either Feb 20 or 13 depending on what the NCAA does.

either way well find out before September 1st for both NFL and NCAA.

Making the Super Bowl the Sunday before Presdients Day and then give everyone Monday off work.

Best idea in my opinion

It would be the best. However doesnt always line up. that way.

Because the start of the season is what is the set point. Nfl always after labor day. Or more exact. NFL week 1 is always NCAA week 2.

So presidents day COULD lineup but not always.
