Some good stuff mainly about our offense. Jamo building on his strong camp.
Hate to read this though “…The Lions defensive secondary, which is a work in progress, still has a ways to go. The Giants receivers were not only getting open, but they were also beating the defensive backs consistently…”
No Bates action?
Sewell giving 0 facks jumping in to protect St. BROWN.
Should be expected. The starting 4 are 75% new. With one guy never taking an nfl snap, and the other at a (sort of) new position. Just score big and often for the first half of the year, let the D gel.
Wait…
Am I the optimistic one?
My concern has always been that this was an Aaron Glenn issue, not a talent issue. If that report holds as the season progresses…
every secondary struggles without QB pressure. Plus taking the majority of them haven’t played in this ‘system’ as well as having rookies. It’ll take time but if we don’t get consistent pressure up front, then it has a good chance of being as bad as previous years.
Beating my annual “please add an impact DE oppo Hutch” deadhorse, let’s hope Brad chose correctly on adding Davenport oppo Hutch…if the pass rush isnt say at least statistically ranked 15ish in the league, this secondary could be in for trouble…again…
DJ Reader getting healthy will make a big difference across the entire defense.
Terrell Williams should also make a big difference.
Not worried about the secondary.
The Lions are keeping their nickel base under wraps for now.
