Why did he not go for that 3rd and 1? He had two WRs open 5 yards past the line of scrimmage and still had a timeout.

Do you think that because GB will be the best team in NFC, or are you being cynical regarding the NFL pushing GB over the Lions per say (if we win tomorrow)? Imo, in my cynical NFL take, the league would rather see the Lions in the SB instead of the Pack. Lions are a major ratings draw ($$$), and the story of the Goff lead downtroden Lions, helmed by one of the most charismatic people in football in coach Dan, in a Super Bowl, is much better for business at the moment, over paint drying Lafluer and Love.

I never understand why teams do not take a shot in that scenario. You send your WRās on Go routes and have the QB let it rip. You may score, you may get a PI or you may fall incompleteā¦. But two out of 3 outcomes are favorable.
