Official The Den 2026 Fantasy Baseball League Thread

I have Soto in 2 leagues. I also have Griffin in those leagues so hopefully he will help fill the void.

I got the new Detroit sports network and now I can listen to all games on the radio on my phone at mlb.com. it must be one of the perks. Anyways I was listening to that game when I was falling asleep and the announcers said it was a hammy injury which is why I posted that.

Everyone make sure to set your lineups today! Last day of games for this week.

Not that it matters for me this week cause @HSVLion is killing me. But what happens if games get rained out on Sunday? For example you lose your best starting pitcher on Sunday, might cost you a category or 2. Do you just get ■■■■■■ or do the stats count in the makeup game?

That’s a really good question. Let me see if I can figure that out.

I saw a couple games were calling for rain today and it crossed my mind. Since NFL games don’t get rained out I have never experienced that before in fantasy sports

Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do to change these rules. That’s a Yahoo thing.

That would be a brutal way to go down in the playoffs. Skubal pitching on Sunday, rained out. Lose the playoff game by 1 or 2 categories for example

Worth noting.

I remember a bunch of people got screwed in the fantasy football playoffs the year the Damar Hamlin thing happened. I agreed with the players refusing to continue that game, but it was a big deal in fantasy football nonetheless.

Yea especially if it’s a big money league

I may bench my sp.

I’m benching one of mine today. I never thought that benching pitchers or specific hitters (if you’re leading in the categories that they’re good at) would be a good strategy, but that appears to be how this works.

Because we’re not using “average” categories like AVG, OBP, SLG, or OPS though, there’s no downside to starting a hitter. A guy going 0-5 doesn’t affect your team negatively. There is a potential downside to starting a pitcher, because we’re using ERA, WHIP, and the inverse (lowest total wins) category of total bases.

If Bassitt and Leiter both got wins and threw 6 shutout innings today then I could win all of the pitching categories (except saves), but if they both get lit up I could lose two or three more categories than I already am.

Nevermind. I can’t give anyone any ideas.

Right I was thinking about that. Very strange. Benching good pitchers in case of them having a bad day.

That is why I always draft hitters before pitchers. Quite often you can manipulate your pitching staff like that and steal at least a couple categories.

More strategizing than stealing. Risk vs reward. Gain vs loss. The game within the game. Pitchers are so fickle you never know what you’re going to get. Hitters have no risk involved. A bad start can wipe you out.

I drafted hitting with a mix of pitchers here and there, but never did a 14 person leauge. Plus 30 seconds a pick makes it a bit difficult for my slow head

Yea, the 14 person league is a first for me as well.
For the most part not much on left to add to your roster and not really checking unless i have a DL player.
