Good thing it wasn’t 16 person leauge

Looking back on it 16 would’ve been way too much.

I feel like our current setup is good for using the good majority of MLB players, but we aren’t so spread thin that we need to get platoon guys and things like that.

And of course Bassitt was the one who got lit up. Not Leiter. Oh well!!

I always loved CBass as a Jay but I think he might be cooked

I traded Dillon Dingler for him!

Valdez has been awesome. You are winning the trade so far. Perdomo was terrific last year. Not so much this year yet. Hopefully he goes on a heater soon.Happy to have Dingler though. Think he might hit 25 bombs

I, of course, wish we just did Valdez for Perdomo. I agree I’m winning the deal though. Valdez has been awesome, and was exactly what my team needed.

Not that it really matters who “wins” a trade like that in fantasy, unless it’s a landslide.

I didn’t start him today but Jack Leiter looks like a great pickup so far. He’s been very good.

What does “NSB” stand for in the stat column?

Net stolen bases

Gain one for every stolen base. Lose one when your guy gets caught stealing. I love this stat.

@Weaselpuppy recommended it. I’m already getting pissed when my guys get thrown out.

I love this thread.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer. But I kinda hate these categories. Sitting good pitchers cause they might have a bad game is just ridiculous.

Or cheering for walks and singles instead of extra base hits and driving in runs. Again seems ridiculous.

I feel like the nature of pitching inherently lends itself to risk management in any kind of fantasy setup. Unless you just go with volume categories like wins, saves, holds, Ks, and quality starts, and maybe make IP a category (which devalues relievers), I’m not sure how you avoid the risk that comes with ERA and WHIP type of categories.

As far as the hitting thing, the alternative to categories is straight points like fantasy football, where HRs and RBIs are worth more than singles, for example. Categories is the more traditional way to play fantasy baseball and it’s not my personal preference. I remember we held a vote before I set the league up and categories won as the scoring format.

I did it more than once in the former league that played with more standard categories than this one. Really depends where the score is on that last day and I don’t think it will happen every week

I know I wouldn’t sit Skubal or Valdez or probably deGrom regardless of what the score was, and if you’re losing then obviously you wouldn’t sit anyone. It’s not an all the time thing.

Don’t think too hard. You may lose worse than you are.

Sorry. League needs some trash talking.

I used to sit but find it seems to backfire more often than not. So now for regular season just play it out.

Yea all good. I’m usually pretty optimistic but I will be one and done in fantasy baseball. Huge waste of time
