On Topic!

I really like On running shoes. Thinking of moving up to Cloudmonster 3 but they are a bit pricey

Anyone have experience with these yet?

I have they are the comfiest around given the right shape of foot. I guess ON and Hoka hit that note for different people based off of the shape of their foot. So said the shoe salesman that I spoke with.

I have HOKA’s and they feel like walking on a cloud. Needed something with lots of comfort when recovering from a torn achilles and HOKA’s were above ON’s for me atleast!

Always get last year’s model, if you can wait. I retire my running shoes every 15-20 runs…I’ve heard people for the super lightweight models getting only 4-5 runs out of their shoes.

Don’t get used to one kind of shoe… I have 3-4 active pairs at any given time. Never tried Onn’s, but am happy with Hoka, Saucony, New Balance and Brooks, these brands fit a wide foot better.

Hoka Hoka burning love!

That seems bonkers, unless you’re running a half-marathon each time.

I’ve always looked at 350 - 500 miles as replacement territory. Am I missing something?

It really depends alot on the shoe, your weight, etc. I’m pretty heavy for a runner (190lbs) so I can’t get as much out of them. And I may be overly-cautious, but PF took me down for almost two years. Its probably closer to 20-30 runs, and I see noticeable wear at the strikepoint.

I would murder a child to be 190 lbs.

I use the Hoka Speedgoat 7 to play softball. I love them. I had the Speedgoat 6, but they developed a tear. I notified Hoka and after sending a pic and getting approval I sent them back to Hoka and they gave me credit to purchase the 7’s.
I do not like calling them a running shoe, because me and running is like ketchup and hot dogs they dont really don’t go together.

I’ve heard it’s a bit of a cult but on a whim I got a pair of Merrill vapor glove which are barefoot shoes, and no joke I love them. They do take some getting used to, but I have noticed they helped calf and ankle strength. Above all though they are comfortable, it’s like wearing broken in slippers.

I have liked Brooks in the past. But I think I’m a convert for now. Oh, and of course just regular Chuck Taylor’s.

Join the cult guys. Come on it’s cool here.
