I can

The man is exceptional in the later rounds

I remember when I said we could add 5 new DB’s this year it wasn’t well-received. We’re at 4 with some safety competition still to come.

My statement was according to what his coach Nick Saban said during the draft.

Wild guess, but my next two pics in my mock were cornerbacks, so they might be wrong.

Right here , not the first dumb thing I’ve seen from Dan, a CB that can’t cover. You got the pic right but you said he was #1 CB that the part that laughable. QBs avg a 96. QB rating when he was targeted. We just spent our Top 4 pics on 3 CBs and one sucks as bad as Levi. Can’t wait to hear how good Levi is.

Here it is referenced by @Blizer in the draft thread (I hope this goes right to it):

Rakestraw had the highest rating against at 134-something.

The Villian strikes again. And there is not a person on this board that won’t tell you the secondary last year was atrocious. The Villian set to out fix that Sh!T.

yeah it was rough to see, but we dont know how the measurables behind it, cause PFF would be slaughtering him if that was the case tbh

I see it now. 134 In man coverage. 86 in zone.

Brad carpet bombs better than Kissinger

Personally, I thought the Lions needed to double up on CBs in this draft but didn’t think it would happen. I don’t know if Brad, et al. planned to do it, but that is the way the board worked out. This guy just does not reach for a player and I admire his discipline. Lions’ fans have seen too much of Lions’ GMs reaching for the shiney objects (Eric Ebrom, for example). What is great is that he snags the best CB late in the first and waits as the board falls to him with a player that was easily a top 50 player also at CB.

Have to say, looking around, I don’t see this guy outside of anyones top 50. Normally in the low 30’s. Position of need. Apparent “value”.

The good part … I’m now certain that we’re going to press the sh!t out of most everyone. Virtually nobody does. If we can pull it off we’ll have a huge advantage due to lack of familiarity and likely be the agent of change that knocks the two high shell stuff off its throne. It could be argued that we did the same thing with offense to outside zone with our diverse approach leaning on gap.

We dont know what they plan for him. Hes a dime or depth or a hibred safety? They have time to break him down and train him up

Lions always looking to zag when everyone else zigs

That’s my concern, but everyone seems to really like the pick including guys who’s opinions I respect
