Love Manu. Trading a 3rd for him is a BIG DEAL. They traded a lot for BroMart too. Can never hate the big guys. Keep that OL going.
“Manu looks like an offensive line prospect who was crafted with the help of artificial intelligence.”
Manu might be too tall for OG, but I would love him there.
Pad level’s key for a tall OG (like I said earlier, Jonathan Ogden was great at it as a rookie despite being 6’9). Normally we can get some indication from the tape but it’s pretty much impossible with his.
Man turns out day 3 CB value was pretty great (as many predicted). Abrams-Draine, Brownlee and Josh Newton all coming off the board in the 5th. Seen them mocked as high as the 2nd.
Rattler to the Saints. Interesting.
Yet, none of them belonged their in the first place.
Apparently not lol (for the record I had them all fairly low, but in the 5th I think they’re pretty good value)
Agreed 2. I thought Booker would have been an excellent pick as a solid developmental edge rusher for the Lions. Hate seeing him go to the Bears.
He’s an interesting one, difficult to asses as it comes to OG possibilities. Doesn’t look like he “bends” all that well, but he is able to come out of his hips on contact. Usually the two correlate, but not always so will be interesting to see
Well lots of trades have happened, and the cold pops are going down good. Do we have any picks left today or did we trade them all?
Trotter Jr. to Eagles….
can’t make this shiit up.
I think we’re very talented along the DL. Can we stay healthy enough?
Regarding Manu…From the Free Press…
ESPN analysts said Manu was one of their Day-3 favorites, describing him as one of the better-kept secrets in the draft process, and landed in a perfect spot in Detroit to develop a strong offensive line boasting left tackle Taylor Decker and right tackle Penei Sewell.
“This is my guy right here,” ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said. “I don’t know how much tape people have available for Giovanni Manu because this guy has not been playing football for a whole lot of time but he is intriguing.”
Manu boasts above average size for one of the biggest positions in football, measuring in at 6 feet 7½, 352 pounds with 34½-inch arms, making him one of the biggest players in the class.
“He absolutely pulverizes people with his power,” Kiper said. “He’s got a basketball background, he could start for the Detroit Pistons at power forward.”
When the trade was announced, the ESPN desk was talking about potential options for the Lions, mentioning defensive line and wide receiver as areas of need, but said Manu made sense as one of the popular sleeper picks on day three.
“One of the better kept secrets throughout the draft process,” Kiper said. “There was a pro day in late March, a bunch of NFL teams went up and worked out a bunch of the Canadian football prospects and Giovanni Manu stole the show.”
Ainias Smith to Philly
Brennan Jackson to the Rams (sorry @Jman)
Jamari Thrash to the Browns (sorry @Davicus)
Some good picks of late.
Oh and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to Philly lol. Of course.
Do the Lions even have a pick left I have lost track since every pick we traded up
Wonder if Rice & Kamara will be available at our original 5th round pick
They have 2 6ths and a 7th as far as I know
Last few picks, sorry again @Jman
