Anyone planning to watch the game tonight, any guys we should be looking at that might be Detroit Lions (cough cough, Oline & DE)?
Hoping Indiana wins, it’s a fun story to follow and the QB seems to be a very nice human

I’m curious what @Thats2 and @CuriousHusker think of Mikhail Kamara. He might be an interesting mid-round DE.
He and Matayo Uiagalelei are guys to watch at DE.
I will be watching unless it gets boring
I think both Kamara and especially Uiagalelei disappointed a little this year, but they should certainly be on our radars. Kamara will be dependent upon his measureables, but I doubt he ends up being much better of a prospect than Hassanein.
I’m really interested in Carter Smith (though it’s hard to tell with him, everything’s a jump set), Ponds, Thieneman, Fisher, Pregnon, Coogan, and of course Moore and Mendoza.
I also think Charlie Becker’s a future star, but he’s not eligible yet. Oh, and if Jamari Johnson decides to come out (unlikely), I think he’d be a borderline 1st round pick and the #2 TE behind his teammate Sadiq.
Hoping for a one score game, like last night.
Too bad the Ole Miss QB didn’t keep the Hail Mary ball in play. Two 6’4” plus guys vs Three 6’2” or less defenders was a great call, that had a chance if he kept the ball in play
One of the two Daft on Draft guys was opining that he really came on late.
Coogan makes a bunch of sense for us. Just solid. I think he has a decently high likelihood of being just fine right away. Probably not a ton of upside beyond that. But four years of cheap and fine at Center could work out rather well.
Mostly agree on Becker but he’s kind of a Tweener.
I find Coogan more interesting the more I watch him. No, he’s not a stud, but he’s the sort of guy who goes late then you look up and he’s been starting for a decade. The question is, does he have the juice to meet our second-level needs?
Kiper has Gulbin at IOL4. ![]()
Yeah I’ve heard that about Matayo U, and I haven’t really watched him thoroughly since halfway through the season. I just really expected him to have more play strength at that size. Honestly give me Lawrence at roughly the same cost.
I saw someone else had him as a 2nd rounder. Maybe Sam Teeties.
I only got a good look at him against Nebraska. He played well. But it’s Nebraska’s IDL so what am I supposed to do with that?
Good chance to see him tonight against some legit dudes, though of course the IU scheme protects him quite a bit. Lots of Notre Dame tape too though.
He might be in back to back National Championship games.
I’m fine with that. I’m really into Jacas again and here’s the reason why.
I was watching a cut up of Denver’s pass rush and Zach Allen really is their tone setter rushing from the inside. We could really use one of those.
And with Jacas we don’t really have much of a proof of concept for that usage bc they flexed him out into space far more often than inside. But given the violence the hands, the wrestling background I think he’d be a weapon when utilized that way.
Obviously very different usage than Lawrence so just take both. ![]()
Sorry. I meant Gulbin. I’m more familiar with Coogan.
Oh right. You’ve been professing Gulbin love for so long I figured you’d seen him plenty.
So I wonder if it requires running a 3-4 to get the most out of that type. Zach Allen wasn’t the guy he would become in Arizona’s 4-man front. There’s just something about the 3-4 OLBs that allows the 5Ts to wreak more havoc. JJ Watt too.
I think you can get more out of Jacas at 7T than Allen, and I do really like him… in fact I would have him above Matayo U as well, and very close to Lawrence
More intrigue than love. But I always thought he was a day 3 guy. I’ve seen others with him in round 3. Hard to handicap in this draft.
11 seconds in… Pick 6

Oh Dante
