My wife is meeting an old friend out in Portland, OR for a couple days. She wants to turn it into a nice long weekend by the Ocean and have me meet her there. Looking at the Canon Beach area…maybe up to an hour north or south. Trying to find a nice place on the beach to chill. Looking for a place to stay that’s not touristy.
Any suggestions?
Canon Beach is great. Proposed to my wife in front of Haystack rock. It is touristy though the Oregon coast isn’t necessarily touristy the same way that coastal towns with better climates are.
As long as your wife isn’t named Kylie.

Oceanside is a cool spot that has the famous tunnel beach. Plus, it is right next to Tillamook, so you can get some tasty dairy products as well.
Ft. Stevens State Park is pretty cool.
