Our defense!

with the help of a few calls, we came out okay. but overall, not too thrilled. Seemed like the Seahawks xonverted several 3rd and longs way too much.

should I/we beconcerned?

Honestly, Branch being out hurt us most than more think, but our games against seattle are always like this.

Geno is just our kryptonite I feel, the perfect Qb against our defense tbh.

Not concerned. They have our # and our offense scored too quickly and left an injured defense gassed.

We will be ok on D. I expect us to grow as season goes on

No. The Seattle offense is good. We were also missing our second best defensive player in Branch. We’re fine.

If other teams copy and we keep giving up big backside gains.

It’s one of the gambles the pundits talk about each week. If you’re playing aggressive on runs and pursuit, you’re prone to counter plays, which they’ve gotten us on.

They also used receivers to push the intermediate guys deep, clearing WAY too much space on the underneath stuff that was converted into big gains with all the space they had to operate in.

In other words, “yes”.

No Davenport, Barnes, Branch or Iffy sure didn’t help. The tackling was pretty bad though.

Another thing to consider was that the guys were gassed the entire 3rd quarter.

Defense played pretty gassed. Unfortunately, our offense was too damn good. TOP is a wild 34 to 26.

The refs didn’t help either.

They were absolutely horrible tonight.

We gave up over 500 yards and 38 first downs.

We have shit to fix. It wasn’t just the absence of Branch or the officiating.

It was a bit frustrating to watch but we didnt give up anything big and made them work for it. Missed tackles need to be cleaned up. And the flags.

Does it really matter? The scoreboard only lists points. Our defense was -15 in points allowed compared to their defense. The rest is more or less irrelevant.

It’s mostly just this IMO. Far and away the biggest issue.

That OPI on Lockett was a little soft. But I thought CD did a great job on DK considering he was single coverage so many times.

Hutch was fantastic as usual. And I didn’t hate Jack Campbells play.

I thought Davis was to blame at least twice. He got caught scraping down inside and didn’t have the speed to recover. More discipline from Davis and Walker finishes with 50 less yards rushing.

Reader flashed. Levi flashed. Amik and Kerby had big moments although their play was uneven. Not AA’s best game IMO but he’ll be fine.

Our defense is going to be quite good if we can just figure out these coverage penalties.

As of now we didnt lose the game because holmes signed davenport. Phew it was a close call but i think a two score win against a playoff claiber team that we have a bad recent history with… i will take it.

Defense needs to cleanup the tackling, today was terrible, and the penalties. Otherwise through 4 games our defense is giving up an average of 20 pts right? I will take that especially when i read the graphic that says our defense is the youngest in the league

I am good with what our D has shown so far and we still have room for improvement

  • AA had a bad game
  • With all the offseason hype Captain Jack has not shown it on the field
  • Reader is still getting integrated

A wild stat: Geno Smith had a completion percentage of 74.8 % on 103 attempts coming into today. We held him to 67.9% on 56.

Sometimes it helps to put things into perspective when it looks like Geno is carving us up. The dude is just accurate as hell.
