We already give up huge days to Jets to begin with, but with our under-manned secondary I’m curious what kind of day you predict next weekend from Jefferson?
Will end up close to 200 yards. He is the best receiver in the game and may go down as the best of all time. He sure loves playing at ford field
Over
I think AG is gonna come out with his Blitz Packages, and leave him on an island with Arnold or Amik
165 yards and 2 TDs.
But Vikings lose by 17 so whatever.
Yards are 1 thing but ideally we can get some red zone stops…
He’s had monster games at FF and will likely have another.
But IIRC, he’s 1-3 in those games.
If they feed JJ all night, that means other guys are not getting many chances to make big plays and sometimes that can work against a team. There are only so many balls to go around. Keep JJ in front of them so far as possible and keep other guys from getting into the end zone.
It won’t be pretty. It will come down to situational football and hopefully we can get some big stops at key moments.
The problem is if you try to double Jefferson and roll coverage… They still got Addison, Hock and Aaron Jones. They are a lot like the the Lions…loaded with skill players
No doubt about it. That’s why I say if JJ has a monster game it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the worst case scenario. The worst case is that they spread it around all night.
We gotta stop the run… And make them 1 dimensional… Us getting a lead early would also be huge. 49ers were getting way too many rushing yards early yesterday with a practice squad oline
They stopped running in the 2nd half and I have no idea why.
And dont forget Nailor, he shredded GB Sunday
I think the crowd noise and some creative blitz packages can cause Darnold some issues. He’s actually pretty mobile so we have to keep that in mind as well. We are really gonna miss Alim this game against the Vikings interior OLine. I do think AG was being pretty vanilla against the 49ers….but I could be wrong. I know Branch had a sack but not sure we blitzed Iffy much.
Second half I saw a lot more blitzes…and we actually hit Purdy 3 or 4 times…1st half Purdy was playing flag football cause we didn’t touch him.
Yea that’s a great point. Definitely a lot more pressure in the second half and contributed to Purdy making some bad throws.
I’d bet the over. Jefferson is going to get a ton of yards. I will not say he gets 2 TD’s. Jefferson is going to do what he did against us in last year’s finale. Get a bunch of yards, no points, and watch his team lose but be extremely happy because he got the ball a lot.
Jefferson doesn’t play for individual stats he plays to win games. He is not your typical diva WR at all.
You could not be any more wrong on this. Jefferson, and Chase are all about me receivers. He is a diva in every sense of the word. I am glad he is on the Vikings. Ultra talented guy, but he is 100% all about him.
Well, the most damaging bad throws from a 9er perspective were obviously the two ints - and pressure had nothing to do with either one. Purdy had a VERY clean pocket in both cases. The second one, Kerby baited him. The first was just an inexplicably terrible throw.
Purdy was getting hit and was definitely not as comfortable in the pocket in the second half. IMO it definitely changed his game.
Lol Jefferson is a model professional, teammate and human being. Athletes shouldn’t really be role models for kids but sometimes you get exceptional human beings who are also exceptional players. Scottie Scheffler, Sidney Crosby, and Jefferson come to mind.
I don’t disagree with your take on Chase. He can pout and have a bad attitude unlike Jefferson who has never done any of that.
Oh, hey Justin Jefferson’s agent! Congrats on getting paid this season!
