Overreaction…? Time to Panic…?

We had an 8-2 run to finish 22’, an NFCC run in 23’ and a league best 15-2 record…. That’s after hoping to win 8-9 games once every 2-3 years over a destitute 25 year stretch.

What if the offensive success was 100% Ben? Did we expect Dan to step aside and give Ben his job? The Bears paid 65M

What if Caleb is a stud? Many considered him to be the most can’t miss prospect since Luck (even more so than Lawrence) prior to his junior year. The years we had really high picks were- Lance, Wilson, Fields, Pickett, Willis, Stroud, Levis… nobody was trading the #1 pick to us in the TLaw, Young, or Caleb drafts….

Our QB literally led the nfl in passing yards and QBs from 22-24’ we weren’t even moving on from him… our HC was a coach of the year candidate, we weren’t ever moving on from him. We were already paying Ben as the top OC, he was never passing up 65M to be a HC…

We never had a shot at Caleb nor a chance to keep Ben… if anything Dan should get credit for making Ben a first time coordinator after the Lynn failure, and even more credit for making him love his job enough to pass up HC jobs for a few cycles.

it’s clear that Ben is having a positive impact on Caleb, but it doesn’t that Goff and Morton can’t rebound.

Bottom line- either Ben was the magic and now it’s downhill from here, or maybe it’s just week one and the Lions, Chiefs, Ravens, etc shouldn’t jump off a bridge just yet.

After just watching Caleb miss an open DJ Moore on 4th down, I’m feeling better already.

Saints won by 30, and Cowboys by two TDs week one last year!

Commanders lost by 2 TDs….

My gut says we see more two TE sets… we pound the ball more with Monty early… we go deep on play action to Jamo and Teslaa early and we stop dropping Hutch and Davenport in coverage period.

Yeah, me too.

Isn’t that more of the Sean Payton offense from the late 2000s early 2010s?

I thought that our offense would look a bit like that (as we have similar personnel to what the Saints ran at that time).

Also Isaac TeSlaa is a very similar size / speed to Marques Colston.

I hope we see more 3 WR with Teslaa on the field

If the interior of our OL looks as bad as it did yesterday against CHI coming up, then a panic may be in order…but let’s see if they can get it fixed Sunday.

Its 2025 pass years dont mean shit

I’m gonna shot for the moon here, a lot of the movement, body type, body control, speed, levitation ability reminds me of AJ Green

100%, the last thing this young interior Oline needs is more bodies in the box to muddy the picture. Let’s spread them out more and make the picture easier for them to read while they’re growing

Don’t push it…

Sure after we establish a rhythm on the ground. Chicago was 25th against the run…

pound the rock with Monty- run PA to Laporta or Ra on option routes, the send Teslaa and Jamo both deep and see which side they shade a safety to.

The Teslaa deep cross and Jamo skinny post combo would be damn tough to cover.

The problem with 3 wrs is tight end. LaPorta isn’t the best blocker. Brock is.

Great post, my man!

We love position versatility, look for them to use Teslaa in unconventional, more TE-ish ways too…keeps the best talent on the filed and he has the size, intelligence, and loves to block. Watch’n’see. Dude is a massive matchup problem.

I hate when we do that on a passing down, that is like taking your best receiver on offense and just have him stay in to help block on a 3rd down
You would never do that so why take your best pass rusher and drop him back in coverage

Nah! Time for everyone to get pissed, and focussed. It’s going to be a bumpy ride until the Oline gels. We’ll see how far that will take us, when it happens.

I’m just in shock over the Dline. I was worried about Davenports health. Not much else. I thought we had decent depth.

I don’t know what to make of it? We didn’t have anywhere near that much talent on defense the last time we beat Green Bay.

IMO there is nothing to panic about yet. Packers beat their ass and thats all there is to it. I don’t think there’s all this dinkin and dunkin and OL sucks talk. I think Goff was doing too much of it honestly and when he over thinks he’ll throw late and get an INT. I liked seeing Gibbs and Dmo get a lot of catches.

Overall it was a bad game and thats it. I think they’ll win the division and be a superbowl contender still.

Thanksgiving 2023- the year we almost won in the NFCC…

crushed in the first quarter… losing 20-6 at halftime…. Then 23-6…. 29-14 packers lead in the 4th quarter-

  • many probably don’t recall this play, but Fox bombed a 58 yard punt but we got a phantom penalty for a false start.. Romo, myself and our RT all saw their DE cross the LOS and stud up to trigger the offside- instead they called a false start and the re-punt was a 32 yard field position swing.
  • the penalty on Hutch was dumb on his part, but the pick 6 would have been nullified by a phantom holding call on Rock regardless
  • That was after AA dropped a pick that was instant red zone for us.

It was bad but we allowed 250 yards of offense…. Our ST and offense sputtered. We will bounce back

I just remember everyone and their mother freaking out last season after the Bucs loss.

I don’t freak out or make assumptions until week 6. By then, we know what most teams are about.
