Path to the #1 Seed in the NFC

Correct.

If the Lions win their next 5, they clinch the division and the #1 seed. Even if they Lions lose to the Vikes, the Lions win the common opponent tie-breaker on account of beating the Rams while the Vikes fell to the Rams after catching the Honolulu Flu. And even if Philly won out in the meantime, we still get the #1 seed based on Strength Of Victory (all previous tiebreakers would be ties).

The only loss we can’t sustain for the #1 seed is Green Bay – Philly beat them, which would prevail over our mere split.

But I don’t think Philly wins out.

Oooh.

We should root for the Commanders to take the #6 seed over the Packers. If the seeding looks like this:

  1. Lions

  2. Eagles

  3. West?

  4. South?

  5. Vikings

  6. Commanders

  7. Packers

…then the Eagles would potentially face a gauntlet of Green Bay in the Wild Card round, the Vikings in the Divisional Round (with a Commanders victory sending them to Detroit), and then finally the Lions on the NFC Championship.

Nice.

Sure- and good experienced teams.

We’ve been dealt so many injuries and still playing dominant.

The fact is we are a young, and just getting experienced winning team- the Bills, Eagles,
and Chiefs have mostly been ā€œin itā€ since 2017. They have a combined 19 winning seasons in 21 combined seasons.

Great post. I was going to do a deep dive on this, but no longer needed. Thank you!

LOL

I haven’t spoken to Holmes about it, but I’m thinking Mahommes isn’t handsome enough to make our roster.

I love this post. We’re a rock rolling downhill, at this point…just gaining more momentum (learning and growing).

The energy/faith is building and as it does, we become more and more unstoppable. We have damn near hit ā€œcritical massā€ with talent (not quite because of age) and will soon be cycling rooks through. We’ll have some challenges with injuries and coaches getting poached, as all great teams do…but we have Coach Dan and the brotherhood, which is the strongest I have seen in my years as a fan. The rest of the league may not quite be able to define what is gonna happen over the next handful of years, but I’m gonna call it getting ā€œDan Campbell’d.ā€

Energy matters. People are making less fun of that concept since players and coaches reference it in some way at damn near every presser, and it’s becoming the norm for the fans too.

Goff himself has said the love, acceptance and faith the fans have in him has helped him perform. Energy matters. It’s coming in tiers.
I believe Sheila had the will to get it started, but it really started with the office LB’r.
Speilman started it, and he hired himself.
Brad is white hot on board, of the same cloth, and an alpha himself.
…then you get into more energy added to the soup in guys that have TONS of contrast (Patricia experience et al) - the guys like T-Deck, Rags, Glass, the contrast that Goff has
…Infuse a few rooks that DON’T KNOW HOW TO LOSE, like Hutch, Gibby, Jamo, BRANCH (my Gawd, what a fun surprise for me)
…stir in some apex predators → Penei, Fox, Monty, Ragz (yup, double mention),
…mix it with some hungry youth that have faith in themselves, that gets amplified by the faith they have in coach…which gets amplified by the faith they have in each other…coupled with the warrior’s code of ā€˜got e/o back’ and knowing their boys have their back the same way that they have their brother’s back…guys like Kerbz, Alim, Hutch, Bates (you heard me), young backups, and more.

it would take a month to get this all out.

Fans are the last tier. Spoke with some random Bear fans yesterday, and I already knew what they told meā€¦ā€œlions by 30ā€. Translation → the entire nation, from Vegas, to opposing fans, to bandwagon fans, on out all have faith in the lions…EVEN PPL WHO DON’T WANT TO HAVE FAITH IN US!

Tsunami incoming! Entire country will be rooting for us. I hear people say it every week, guys. Coach Dan has done it!

I love you all.
…gonna go cry now.

You do not want to travel to PHI in the winter and deal with their crowd.

Make them come here and deal with ours.

Or the winter…last time that happened, Shady trucked us in the snow bowl

Step #1: Beat Vikings and Stinky Cheese at home.

Step #2: Ravens beat Eagles next Sunday on short rest after the Harbowl.
