Not surprising. Mahomes is much faster than Matthew Stafford.
Patrick Mahomes is also the only player who ran around for 25,000 yards to throw for 25,000 yards.
Sounds like an RB we had around these parts, back in the '90s.
far younger , On The Chiefs , less injuries in his career , now he needs to pass Stafford’s 52,000 career yards…
Just saw this on Reddit when you posted this. Wonder why Stafford isn’t on this graphic

Stafford’s pick 6 record is going to be safe though, once he overtakes Brett. We don’t want a guy who steals from charity in the record books anyway.

What if our boy Matt had been borne into that situation instead of WCF’s dumpster fire?
Boom! Mahommes is awesome…but Reid is awesome too.
here’s the thing—IF Stafford wasn’t playing for such a Clown Show for 12 years-Mahomes wouldn’t touch him, IF Matt could-have stayed upright , healthy, had good pass pro and productive players through his career…Stafford’s numbers would- be twice higher–yet Stafford ate more turf than a damn Billy Goat—had a circus staff , his team mates were hot and cold , and couldn’t win anything- MOSTLY to the dipshits TRYING to run the team-but instead , Mahomes caught up fairly quickly–I’m not saying he’s not talented, but KC is royalty compared to anything we have been -before- so I would expect Pat to flourish there. Staff is on the wrong side of age to be dynamic in the league much longer–if at all , yet I will say that I don’t dismiss what Matt was able to do here despite all the BS and drama in his career as a Lion.
I love Stafford. Always have, always will.
With that said. I think his shitty situation here helped his stats. Defense stunk. No run game. Forced to throw the ball A LOT. That’ll help those yards for sure
He should be…he did it in 90 games
Manny Ramirez just standing there and not blocking anyone (including DT CJ Mosley), on the second to last play of the Browns game cost Stafford the last 4 games of 2009 (and he probably shouldn’t have played in the two weeks after that).
Julius Peppers treating Jeff Backus like a tackling dummy cost Stafford 13 games in 2010.
The era Marino did it in still makes his stand out to me. They didn’t protect QBs or WRs in his era.
Agreed.
That’s like measuring the rate of acceleration on different planets. Totally different properties enacting forces on the projectile.
Lions weak OC’s & Lack of Running Game for 10 years = Heavy Drag Force.
You need to be able to measure in an equilibrium state. Unfortunately we can’t. Its all hypothetical, but it is fun.
Color me, don’t give a shit. We got our haul, move on…
