Patriots Lowest SOS for a SB team. 18 game schedule will make it worse!

Im sure we have all heard this story. Patriots had a 0.391 Strength of Schedule (average opponent of 6.65-10.35 record). Lowest for any SB team in history

But i was thinking what happens when they add the 18th game. Which will likely be another standings based divisional cross over match up. Which if we had the 18th game this year, the patriots would have played the 4-13 Giants.

Bringing their SOS even lower.

0.361 !! Average opponent of 6.5-11.5 (or a 5.77 -10.23 record for a 16 game schedule to put it in perspective)

That is absolutely disgusting. Which makes me wonder. What if the NFL gets rid of the standings based scheduling? 18 games. 6 Divisional. Plus 8 games in conference 4 out. 3 total divisions.

Yes it makes it harder for the bad teams. However. It keeps the better teams in the playoffs. Which is the money maker.

I don’t care. One more Lions game per year =

Would have been vs Houston this past year. Would have been At Vegas this coming year.

The Patriots play in a bad division. This is not newsworthy. They built an empire off of it.

The Patriots definitely looked like they didn’t belong. If you take Tom Brady out of the equation, the Patriots have looked completely outmatched the other three times. Some teams are like that, they just kind of fall into it. Which makes the Lions never making it all the more frustrating.
