Philosophically what is your road map

To improving the roster? Do you lean in on defense? Offense? Split resources evenly between the two? Is it simply let value come to you/don’t force the issue?

Defense needs Depth, and the DLine needs starters

I expect us in the draft to look at the DLine for sure.

OG we need some depth, and i wouldnt be shocked if Brad looks for a WR day 3 aswell.

Heavy on DL and OL in the draft.

F.A. CB LB and depth

My road map is what Brad has done. Fill most of the “holes” in FA with saavy FA moves. So probably an OL, SAM LB, IDL, outside CB/S who can start. And then attack the draft in BPA.

Health and a focus on Dline, LB and OL

I probably should have included reinforce the trenches as an option. I imagine that will be the preference of many.

Someone like Ty Robinson makes some sense. You can lean on him as a 3T while Alim is getting back and then he becomes your multi-positional ultra-violent ass kicker thereafter.

A reliable 3rd safety is an underrated need. Doesn’t need to be a star but better than Joseph and more reliable than Iffy.

Which means you need a legit NB, so Branch can move back to safety. Otherwise you’re looking at adding 2 safeties - a starter and a backup at some point this offseason.

Defense I think. I can’t stand when we play mobile quarterbacks. Hell just stay healthy and were probably good lol.

It has to be ALL defense!

Yes the oline is older but they are all still on the roster. So you are not replacing them THIS year.

Maybe 1 guy from FA or mid rounds of draft to develop. (Like manu and mahogany)

But they need defensive depth.
3rd year in a row they are running practice squad players at DB as starters.

They have NEVER had DB depth.

The DL depth was fine. A team has NEVER faced thay many significant injuries before. EVER.

But the DB depth has always been a problem.

They seem to really like Amik inside even though there is plenty of evidence that is not his best position.

I want more team speed in general so someone like Barron or Jacob Parrish at NB is appealing. Kind of doubt we use premium resources on NB though.

When we were healthy the advanced metrics actually preferred our defense to our offense.

We need to find a way to get a good OL prospect (unlike Manu…someone ready to play now) while also getting an impact pass rusher and a defensive back before the end of day 2.

Fortunately, when AG leaves (:crossed_fingers:), we’ll have three picks in the first three rounds to get that done.

Theres always gonna be injuries and the lions had a top 20 offense all time this year.

Idk what more you need with that.
The passing defense has been a problem for years now.

We have one, his name is Christian Mahogany!

It was not through week 5.

We still need another good OL prospect.

Hmm. What happened in Week 5 that could’ve hurt our pass defense?..
