Pistons - My wish list for the 2024 draft

Well the kid is only 18, which in my old man knowledge of bball vs new age bball, makes me think his skillset is not defined at this point in his basketball life he can definitely improve.

See if the supposed elite shot teacher they hired is any good.
However, I wouldn’t bet money on it either, mainly as I’m not a gambler to begin with. Would @Jman is the real question.

A special shampoo and a tiny comb will help with that itch.

Don’t ask me how I know.

Williams or Salun or Buzellus IF they thought they could get his 3 pt shot back to the 43% he shot in HS.
Holland could be great if he learns to shoot. Im not convinced thats easy to change.

Draft bronie and hold him hostage and have the lakers give up the farm to get him!

We took Bobby Klintman.

BlockquoteWe took Bobby Klintman.

Player comps are Nic Batum and Maxi Kleber.

Slim, lengthy 6-9 forward who has been a decent 3-point shooter (36%). Profiles as a solid backup, but not starter material.

I’m not seeing much upside with Klintman.

Good call @Jman .

With our 2nd pick in the 2nd round we took Cam Spencer

Ehhh, nevermind. His rights were traded to the Grizzlies.

They need to get rid of Beef Stew, he sucks.

And KJ Lewis. Duncanville puts out some dudes.

That means he is destined to be a good player now

For what

I honestly don’t know. The 2nd rounders get shuffled around so much that it’s hard to keep track.

Though, I think this one was part of the trade to move up to 37. I’m just not sure.

Swapped picks and took on a contract

Regarding Holland, some writers have made the point that all of the TOP 10 rated players (excluding 23 year old Knecht, who went 17th to the Lakers), can’t shoot.

Luckily, Trajan hired a Shot Doctor, who has “Fixed” a number of NBA players to be at least, approaching average. Problem is the Pistons have 4 Starters, who can’t shoot. If the Shot Doctor can “Fix” 2 out of 4 Piston starters, the Pistons will be a much different, more winning team., was the forecast. Also, don’t expect big improvements in “Shot %” in 2024, more likely 25-26 said the writer.

That is like joining the Lions fan nation about when they signed Kyle VandenBosch

He’s like the Rob Deer of draft picks. Many a home run scenario in there but with a sh!t ton of strikeouts.

But I get the logic of hunting stars considering the difficulty in attracting top FA talent.

Really bleh draft as well. It is what it is.

It’s not what I would have done but I mentioned him as a potential moon shot early in this thread bc the upside really is that tantalizing.

If there is any way to nab Darius Garland out of Cleveland, do it.

Ausar/Holland at the 3 and Cade/Holland at the 2 with Tyus Jones /Cade at the 1, with Ingram and Duren is the start of a solid base. Need another shooter.
