Pistons trade for KJ Martin

Best draft in the long time, and fans what the play in game. We should’ve been sellers in my mind. Need to bulid better around cade

surprised big eyes GIF

Smart is cooked and has an ugly contract that would eat all the Pistons cap space this offseason.
Schroder is the better player, even though he’s an idiot, and has an expiring deal so it’s a better fit.

Sellers? They’re in a playoff spot.
Good luck selling the idea to Cade that you plan on making the team worse.

Why to finish 15th in leauge and not get him any help with a project player. These players aren’t going to move the needle far at all

Until last night, 6th in east, meaning they skip the play in.

Also, 4 ganes out of 4th for home court in rd 1.

Thats fine. Better spend next off season

I don’t get it, so what were you expecting?
What project player? Schroder is a 31 year old PG who has been in the league for a long time. He’s here to help alleviate some of the ballhandling duties off of Cade.

Which “big needle” move were you expecting. Sell Ivey, Duren, Beasley, Stewart for picks? You wanted them to be sellers, right? Just trying to understand

They may not be in a big position to spend next year as they will have about the same amount of cap space as they did for this trade season, the way it looks right now. That assumes they bring back Beasley at a number closer to his value around 12 to 14 million.

What they can and should do is look to extend Ivey and Duren. Their cap holds as RFAs for 2 years from now total about $50m, and they can Bird Rights both of them either after this year or after next to exceed the cap. They have plenty of space under the 1st Apron to do that with those 2.

They will free up $26m after next year from Harris, hopefully to use to sign a 3rd star at the 4 to pair with Cade and Ivey.

That Harris signing has been not a misstep, but not a great call either. Brandon Ingram there would have been a lot better deal, but his 38m salary probably didnt fit.

To take Marty’s thought, I hope they look for a trade of Harris this offseason. Their draft capital is a little lacking to be able to get an upgrade though.

Harris and his 26m out along with a first in 27 and most of their remaining cap after signing Beasley, let’s say for a player in that 35m bracket at the 4. Not sure who that could be…gotta dig a little.

Did you want us to trade Marcus Sasser for Luka or something?

Cool .

Not going to argue with people anymore. I got a ton on my mind arguing with people about the pistons.
