Playoff Money

NFL playoffs pay rates

Based on recent years, this is how much a player would get in each round of the NFL playoffs in 2025.

  • Division winners participating in the Wild Card round - $46,500
  • Other Wild Card teams- $41,500
  • Wild Card first-round byes- $41,500
  • Divisional playoff game- $46,500
  • Conference Championship game- $69,000
  • Super Bowl champion- $157,000
  • Super Bowl losing team- $82,000

so SuperBowl winner collects $314,000 if you use 20 games that is around 6.3M for the season. Some guys getting a good deal some not. It is all about the ring you gotta think.

The article did not say who qualifies for the checks. Montgomery is not on IR Hutch is? Manu is on roster but probably not game day? Owners discretion?
Team vote? Anybody know?

Bad math bud lol

But thank you for sharing the info

Definitely something to consider and think about

NFL vet minimum works out to ~ $66,000 per game….
which means the playoff payout barely exceeds the vet
minimum.

The playoff payout is pretty much robbery for the owners.

Should help some of our players recoup the money the NFL has been taking out of their pockets for some of the BS fines.

Back when Peyton was still playing they showed how he was going to lose money playing a playoff game in New Jersey.

I wish I could link the article. But it was super interesting. Each state taxes players for the games they play in that state based on their per game pay. So as I recall Peyton was going to get taxed more than the bonus he was receiving if they won.

This is another worm hole to venture down. But it why most F1 drivers take up residence in Monaco due to their zero income tax rates.

Taxes are a huge issue for these guys. And I get it rich people problems. But it really is kind of an issue because they are not business people so the government basically W2s their asses back to the dark ages. While rich folk with businesses know how to “manage” their taxes better.

Not exactly. The NFL playoffs are a big part of the overall revenue generated by the league. The players receive a percentage of the overall revenue in their normal salary and bonuses. If anyone is committing robbery its players on teams like the Jets who never make the playoffs to do their part to help generate that overall revenue. They just get it as a part of their regular season game checks and then go on vacation when its playoff time.

Note: The Jets have the longest playoff drought in the NFL. They haven’t been to the postseason since 2010.

I just find it rich that a Lions fan would look down on that.
Remember where you came from. Life has a way of being circular.

It wasn’t a jab at you personally. It was just as much a jab at myself.
How soon we become Packer fans-ish.
I hope we don’t let that happen. We’re the eternal underdog. It suits us.
