In the past I’d have polls like every other week up until the draft to gauge the board’s opinion over time. However, this year, with the draft meaning less to us relatively, I decided to wait until right before the draft to ask.
So, I’m asking both questions in this post…
Who SHOULD the Lions take somewhere in round 1? (could be through some kind of trade)
Who do you think the Lions should take?
- Kool-Aid McKinstry
- Jer’Zhan Newton
- Cooper DeJean
- Nate Wiggins
- Terrion Arnold
- Quinton Mitchell
- Jackson Powers-Johnson
- Graham Barton
- Troy Fautanu
- Laiatu Latu
- Brian Thomas Jr.
- Adonai Mitchell
- Xavier Legette
- Chop Robinson
- Darius Robinson
- Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
- Other
Then…who do you think we actually take, if anybody?

Lions should take Cooper. But he wont be there
That’s my thought as well. Unless Brad REALLY likes him. But at what cost (as if that’s my problem to deal with) ?

So the first one… is how unlikely I think It is irrelevant? Is it just all of these guys are available who are you taking?
If I could have any of the first group Fautanu and Mitchell are the easy first two.
Troy on this OL? Good luck. Then we’re the modern day Hogs.
Need a play maker back there and hes the guy

In multiple areas, no less.

Yes. Pick whoever you want.
There should be an “other” option, because I could only put so many guys in the poll for it to still work.
The second poll is for what you actually think is going to happen
Hes also a great punt returner
Yep just 2 more days until we don’t pick
My point exactly. Multiple defenses positions and multiple ST positions.

Rakestraw… He’s got Dan Campbell written all over him and could potentially be a lock down #1 corner if he pans out… History of injuries (including ACL in 2021) has the Brad Holmes box checked as well lol
The Lions have brought in nearly every top CB prospect except one. Brad Holmes is pulling the ole “Kansas City Shuffle” on the NFL and my money is DeJean will be the rabbit he pulls out of the hat.
Campbell, Laporta, DeJean.
The guy gives out receptions like a McDonald’s drive through.
2022 gave up QB rating when targetted of 83.3.
2023 In coverage Rakestraw Jr. had 2 pass breakups, made no interceptions, and surrendered an unipressive QB rating when targetted of 96.9.

Yup I am with mouse on this one
He may be picked by Dan, but the guy still can’t cover and I got a grand says he never becomes a #1 CB.
Given that he isn’t even the first corner we took, we don’t need him to be a #1. We just need him to be better than…Kindle Vildor…to be an upgrade.
