Yes. Sorry, fellas. I watch too much Letterkenney. Although if you punch in “celly” in the gif section on the board here you get nothing but sports celebrations so I feel like my use is justified here

I’ve heard it most used in ice hockey to describe a single player’s on ice goal celebration. It’s not usually used for a locker room celebration that I’m aware of. Like this one… But then again I’m old.

Yup, it’s definitely a hockey term. But it’s leaked over into being just a generalized term for sports celebrations at this point. At least amongst the people in my social circles

Lol. Hockey I feel has become the worst at nicknames and stuff like that. I don’t know when it started but I feel it’s been at an all time high the last couple years.
You don’t need to abbreviate everything and put a -y after it. Like celly, or tuddy, I’m sure there’s other examples. And I never know half the players names because in interviews it’s always some nickname that’s sometimes based on two maybe three letters of their name. Get it together geez!
