I probably wouldn’t give up that much for any pitcher, especially one who hasn’t had Tommy John yet. You are almost guaranteed that he will miss the better part of two years at some point.
If it was for a hitter like Acuna, I’d think real hard on it.

Skenes aint being traded. He’s the only reason any fans go to a game. Without Skenes the stadium would look like the inside of a coffin on a moonless night.
If you want half your season ticket holders to cancel…then yea trade the best young pitcher in baseball.

I would do it. Briceno is the one that I would not give up. My biggest problem is including Keith, who is under our control for a looong time. I’d see if they would take Lee instead.

But they would be getting wonder boy Max Clark, who, on that team, would be immediately promoted. All of a sudden all of their fans would be 18 year old girls. Who would bring in all the 20-something guys. And it wouldn’t be every fifth game, like Skenes.

Interesting point… I just can’t see trading the best pitcher under 25 in baseball. He turned 23 recently. 42 career starts… ERA is below 2

Why would the Braves trade Acuna? Same for Skenes but the Braves could make some tweaks and be right back to contending. With the Pirates they just seem so downtrodden that nothing really matters.

Sorry, not trading that for the Tigers. Jobe may not be Skenes, and due to the injury we are punting 2 of his 6 years of control, Im not letting our top 2 propsects, who play at the most important defensive positions go with Jobe AND 2 other solid pieces.
Actually the only deal worth talking about being realistic to possibly get done is the Phillies deal of Painter and Crawford for Buxton. Minny should jump that given Buxton is the Most Injured Guy this century. Painter hasn’t been super healthy either, but this is exactly the kind of deal DD makes.
