DC leads the way and AG deserves mad props but Brad has brought in some decent players to help fill a decimated roster. Not just scrubs but good players. Zadarious and Patrick have been great. I think most of the guys signed this last week will become solid as well. Great work by Brad and the player personnel department. We have some seriously solid leadership in Detroit now. It is a good time to be a fan.

Funny thing to me is that Holmes and Campbell aren’t doing anything special
They are simply finding guys who play the game the way they want them to play the game. Anyone could do it but for some reason this is their rare superpower
And yeah, I get that Detroit is now a destination for some of these vets, but the majority they are bringing in could/would have gone anywhere. Go back in time and think about how grateful Buggs was to be brought in here. Cominskey. The Reynoldses.

Something I realized while watching the first half of the game and the DL looked like absolute maniacs - these are men on the fringe, that have dedicated their lives to a sport and many found themselves just on the outside. This is their big shot, their moment to prove they belong. And they are coming into a system, a staff, a city that is about redemption and fight. We (collectively the sports world) call them cast offs, borderline, scrubs, etc. But they reminded us they are men with families, heart and dreams, possessing top 1% physical talent in the world. And they will fight for themselves, but the culture in Detroit will magnify that effort. Love these guys.
