He’s been pretty terrible the last 2 weeks.

This is an excuse to make Darnold as the starter (which was probably the plan all along and makes the 49ers more competitive). If Darnold plays well be probably remains the starter.

I agree with you that “protocol” is used as a way to bench a QB while not raising huge alarms from the media. And while I think they want a short term change at QB, I don’t think they see Darnold as the long term answer.

Does “protocol” stand for pro to college. I think that might be good for Brock.

I think we are the number two seed right now with a lower tier tiebreaker over the Niners. Strength of schedule so far I believe

I could be wrong here @TNutZz so bare with me. Same record, both have lost to one NFC and one AFC team, both are in charge of the division record. I think it is something with the points for and points against. But you could be correct. Might be SOS. And another one could be the home / away thing. SF lost at home to MIN (NFC). DET won on the road vs. GB and TB (NFC). It’s a weird system. The factoring gets nuts a few tiers down. Just throwing those out there.

Right now we are the two seed.
tie breakers with SF:
head-to-head (not applicable)
conference record (same)
record among common opponents - minimum four (NA right now)
strength of victory (W_L % of whom you’ve beaten - we have the edge here)
stength of schedule…

we woud play the seventh seed bucs.
