That’s not how I read this. I read simply Seattle was the preference. No dis on Detroit.
Why would he come back to Detroit? How much could he expect to play with Joseph and Branch clearly ahead of him?
I think this is the correct thought as playing time was probably the basis for the decision. He knew he wasn’t going supplant KJ or BB in the starting role if he came to Detroit.
Good decision and will likely get him a ring.
Kerby was already injured at the time they tried to add Diggs late in November, after his release from Tennessee… Branch was knicked up at the time as well, ended up tearing his Achilles the first week of December.
Actually, my point in posting this was different.
I know every time a player who is a “name” or “known” get released or is otherwise available, some fans complain “why didn’t the Lions sign X”? What this reinforces, especially with FA coming up, is that some players the Lions can’t sign because, for whatever reason, they don’t want to come here. Something to keep in mind as we approach mid-March.
