Rams Vs Panthers

He probably isn’t a Lions Legend to be honest. But it’s an even bigger endorsement that he survived that shit show to be where he’s at now.

Winning a 2nd SB puts you in rare territory. Add his career statistics to it, and like it or not, he’s way up there on the all-time lists.

Not directing this at you

he has 30+ career 4th quarter comebacks as a lion. He set the nfl single season record for comebacks as a tion. He’s owns all of the lions major passing records. Its not his fault he was here during a shitty ass coaching+front office regime. He’s by far our best qb ever and if he was on this team as constructed, we’d already have a ring.

Me rooting for him to fail has zilch to do about being proved right. What exactly do you think would be proven if Stafford loss? For me, the guy even after losing and being knocked out of the playoffs, couldn’t bring himself to say he was rooting for Detroit in order to bring a championship to Detroit and its fans. The same fans that wore Stafford jerseys during his Super Bowl run and rooted for him to win a championship. So…..screw that guy.

Matthew Stafford is generational. He should be considered in the same league as Barry and Calvin as one of the Lions greats. None of them were able to win here, but what else is new?

So I’m confused. If all of a sudden you don’t root for the guy that hasn’t played for us in 5 years, you’re a hater?

By far the best Lions QB just isn’t true anymore. Thats disrespecting Goff big time. I still say that Stafford is the best Lion QB I’ve personally ever seen. But I no longer can argue if someone views it differently.

Ultimately QBs are judged by winning and losing. Whether it’s his fault or not, Stafford didn’t win a whole lot here. That’s just the simple truth. It’s not the same for him as it is for Barry and Calvin.

I thought Staff became a Lions legend the second he threw a game-winning TD pass with a separated shoulder his rookie season.

Matthew Stafford and the Rams beat the Panthers
(has nothing to do with Jared Goff or the Lions)

Stafford haters: “But Goff has a better career passer rating!”

Your entire response just proves my point. It doesn’t matter to me…but it’s clearly your reaction how you’ve felt about him all along.

There’s zero reason to root for him to fail other than what I suggested. It’s all good…dont need an admission on this subject.

Yea, it’s kind of strange how if you don’t root for him than you are automatically labeled a hater
It’s like we traded him away and he wanted to stay here, the guy REQUESTED a trade to leave the Lions.
I have no reason to root for him or against him (unless I like the team he is playing)

Goff is going to easily exceed what Stafford accomplished when he was here. Maybe not in total stats but for sure in wins, playoff wins, and hopefully a SB win

Good news for the Bears. Ben may focus on this game, as opposed to looking ahead to another job

Are you a hater? If not, then it doesn’t apply to you.

Plus I’m just having fun.

Stafford to me without a doubt is the best QB in Lions history and belongs in the Detroit Lions hall of fame. If Goff could win a couple of Superbowls then i’ll reconsider it.

It doesn’t apply to you bro…but hating on Stafford is an absolute fact in this board. It was happening throughout this thread alone

This is what it all boils down to.

Well there are definitely a handful of posters that fit this
But in general I think most could care less one way or another and have moved on from him

Yeah no haha

It’s very much alive and well. It’s why any criticism of Goff is met with such defense and backlash. It’s ingrained in probably 75% of this board one way or the other

Here is the difficult question. How many more years does stafford need to play for the rams for lions fans to be ok with him going into the HOF as a ram and not as a lion?

Not difficult. He’s a Ram.

He won the SB as a Ram
