I think you’ll all be surprised where they have us
I was surprised to find out that we weren’t first.
Lions 6
Vikings 7
Packers 8
Bears 16
Broncos 1, Eagles 2
#6 is respectable.
I’m not sure what they have against Amik?
And, TA was a rookie. Was. He was not playing like one at the end of the season.
I expected top 10. I didn’t expect to be on the cusp of top 5.
This not the SOL!
This is the main reason Detroit didn’t freak out on draft day, or panic away cap space just yet.
In a few months there will still be veteran edges lingering around, but will we need one?
What if they like 22 year old Tyliek more than they liked 2022 Mac? What if Reader looks even better now that the quad injury is further in the rear view? What if Hutch is 100%?
What if Davenport has crazy fresh legs and stays healthy in what could be his last shot to get paid in the NFL?
What is Paschal was told to drop 15 points and play at 265 with that 1.58 10 yd burst coming back into play? Not only has he battled injuries, but they have asked him to play inside and out. What if he’s just a bigger edge that had 39 TFL in the SEC?
What if Hass is a late round gem? It’s unlikely, but given the strength around him, and his character makeup? Who knows…
Hutch- Elite
Reader- very good
Levi- decent
Davenport- ???
Anzo- very good
Jack- good
Arnold- good
Branch- Elite
Kerby- Elite
Reed- very good
Robertson- good
Mac- very good
Tyliek- likely good this year
Paschal- below average
Barnes- Good
Rake- hopefully at least average
Ya Sin- bad starter
Maddox- slightly below average
Muhammad- bad starter
Lopez- average
Wingo- hopefully good rotation piece
We e are 9 deep of proven nfl talent depth!!!
Just the opposite for me. Gain 10 to 15 pounds and stay inside. I really think once Paschal gets to a new team he will be better. He fits a 3-4 front better. Playing the 4I or 5 tech. Not playing out wide on the edge. He has zero pass rushing skills off the edge. His power plays better inside.
I dunno about gaining weight, but I think it’s pretty clear that they see him much more as an inside difference-maker, not an outside one.
IF Davenport can stay healthy and/or they get Z back + DB can be a force rushing the passer + Terrion keeps ascending, THEN #6 is very plausible.
Except for the fact that he racked up some sacks and TFL at Kentucky playing OLB and Edge…
He was 6’2” and change and 268 when he ran a 4.77 with a 1.57 split.
Rumor is he has also tried playing as big as 280 plus while in the D.
I think- Wingo, Levi, Mac, Tyliek, and Reader could easily provide enough juice inside. I’d even kick Paschal inside at 268 in the nascar, but 280 plus is a lot to move at a 1.57 clip.
Just keep in mind he came out at Shermar Stewart’s weight with an even faster 10 yd… I think he suffered like Scourton did this year from the extra weight.
I could be wrong but 9.7 RAS at 268 is real. I see a 6.0 RAS athlete out there with with extra weight.
Hey just take Brad Holmes word for it. He said after the season the only reason Paschal played so much edge was they had to due to injuries. I don’t think it helps a guy like Paschal when we have a new dline coach every year though. Literally 4 seasons, 4 different coaches.
Fair points. I wondered if we’d play more 3-4 loos under Shep. The initial response was NO!!! lol
Is see this-
Lopez and Reader are pure NTs
Mac and Tyliek have NT size, it move like big 3Ts
Paschal and Levi have the strength to play inside and are quick enough to play on the OT- though neither is great vs the run inside nor rushing the pass on the tackles outside shoulder. Ideally 5T for paschal and 3T or 5T for Levi.
This would endorse the Barnes getting lot of sacks if he’s rushing opposite Hutch?
Otherwise in a 4-2?
Hutch
Davenport
Hasseinen
Muhammad
- that’s shallow and ugly
Reader
Tyliek
Lopez
Mac
Levi
Paschal
Wingo
That’s crazy deep at NT and 3T but are there enough snaps?

Good post. I think so. Keep em fresh and rotate them a ton. Maybe just maybe that helps keep them healthy.
You are right. I am surprised. I am also surprised the titans are so low…but that is perhaps shortsighted on my part w literally 0 reseearch.
Its crazy how we can be the stickiest secondary in regards to coverage and be considered an achilles heal. I would have thought they would say the line is an achilles heal.
There is so much desire for a ring, that realizing just how talented we are is eluding people.
Factor age and contract…. How many guys would you rather have???
QB: Goff- Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, Daniels, Hurts, Nix, Stroud… I would say max of 8-9 depending on how many Caleb believers there are?
RB1: Gibbs- Bijan or Jeanty… both debatable but that is it.
RB2: Monty- nobody imo
WR1: Amon Ra- Chase, Jefferson, Lamb, Nabers…
WR2: Jamo- Higgins, Addison, Odunze maybe?
TE: Laporta- Bowers, Kittle, maybe Loveland or Warren?
DE1: Hutch- N Bosa, M Garrett, W Anderson, maybe nobody?
DE2: Davenport- LOTS…and lots
This year’s d will be the peak of Dan Campbell’s career
