I think we all agree that the best way for the Lions to win a championship is to get the #1 seed for home field advantage.
So what record will they need to get?
Well I went through all the seasons since 2002, current format for the most part.
Average record for each seed. And adjusted them to a 17 game season
1 - 14 - 3
2 - 13 - 4
3 - 12 - 5
4 - 10 - 7
5 - 11 - 6
6 - 10 - 7
7 - 9 - 8
So the Lions need to win 13+ games to have a real chance at the 1 seed

I don’t think we need it per say… but it would sure help not having to leave Ford Field.
Once ur in the playoffs anything can happen. Even wildcard teams have won the super bowl.

Yes but many of them are outdoor teams. Play in the cold regularly.
1980 Oakland and 2020 Tampa are the only exemptions and Tampa had Brady.
Having the #1 seed would insure that the Lions wouldn’t have to play a game in,
Philly, GB, or Seattle in the winter.

Oh it would be nice for sure. But getting the number seed 1 won’t be easy. Every good team wants it.
To me it all starts with winning the division every year… after that well it’s mostly gravy. Took us about 3 decades to win the division…lol

A picture is worth a thousand words. Two pictures? Pretty much the same.

20-0 until …… it’s not happening!
If the Lions are the 1 seed last season they would have played in the SB. It makes a big difference.

Getting the #1 seed in the NFL is the biggest advantage in professional sports…imo

Not sure I agree… nothing San Fran did or their crowd had to do with San Fran winning. The Lions just shit the bed. We shot ourselves in the foot about 7 times.

But a lot of those mistakes could have been caused by the fan noise and nerves.

They also had the advantage of a bye week, and they didn’t have to travel.
You could be right bud…
Let’s be objective about this.
We aren’t playing the Eagles. The Eagles are really good. I see them losing only four games next year – at Cincy, at Dallas, at Baltimore, and at LA. Our own losses are more likely to come from the NFC, so we need to go at least 14-3.
And beat SF.
