As usual you are right. The Canadiens are being dominated after 1 decent showing in game 1

The Habs had one great game and two close but not enough games in them. Once Carolina hits their stride they are a juggernaut.

Yeah, montreal caught them flat footed the first game but as they grinded out the series they were just out of juice. Can’t have 12 shots a game and expect to win. They still have a good team and they got some great experience, Carolina is just more polished and road tested at this point.

Going to be interesting in the finals, I will be pulling for Carolina. I don’t know much about Vegas but I also I can’t stand Vegas on the principle they were just handed a successful team by the nhl, and I’m tired of southern teams winning… but then so is Carolina, but they have Rod Brindamour as a coach who was on Philadelphia… I dunno.

I love the game of hockey but I hate the nhl. At this point I might just go watch junior, college and/or high school games

The hockey guy does a very thorough breakdown of the game in case anyone is interested, I don’t watch all his stuff but usually enjoy the videos I do see, he knows his stuff!

He says at the end this series could’ve been a sweep and I agree with him, so it goes. Wasn’t surprised so much by this one as the Avs Vegas series, but didn’t realize the Avs were running on fumes so badly!

Anyway, enjoy the finals! I’ll still tune in, I’m over my tantrum about southern hockey and Vegas :winking_face_with_tongue: however if all the games start at 8 I will probably only watch the first period or two maybe… all this primetime nonsense is too late for me these days!

I remember all season all these “hockey elitists ” complaining that the pacific division was booty and didn’t deserve to have the “2 seed” just because they won a bad division. When Minnesota had 10 more points.

Well look whose representing the west. The pacific. Almost like the NHL has the best playoff system.

I like the old system better for the NHL

I didnt mind 1-8. The problem was, the win% of 5-8 was virtually 0.

Showing that all the sports playoffs should be the top 8 only. 4 per conference,

But ya know MONEY. So if we HAVE to have 16. Make the first round a little more exciting and it makes divisional standings more meaningful.
