Broken link
I feel like Stafford has the arm to play to at least the late 30s. Hard to believe he is 36.
Issue though is i think the bottom is starting to come out under him
He was very terrible in the Red Zone last year, and while Goff has his issues with pressure (As we have discussed many a times), stafford struggled with it really, really bad last year. Kupp losing a step does hurt badly, and Stafford was also singling out Puka alot.
Mcvay made a comment about needing the offense to be more dynamic, so i expect them to after a burner in the draft or in FA for WR (Darius Slayton maybe?) to add some juice. But Rams need a succession plan soon at the spot, they are a good team, but the Age on two of their biggest players is starting to show.
You know whose voice I read that in?
“He was very terrible in the red zone last year. It’s really a disgrace…A lot of people say he should stop playing, it’s the most disgraceful red zone performance. Sad!”
Lmao
but seriously, his stats
35/75 attempts (46.7% Completion Percentage), 250 yards, 16 TD’s to 1 Int (stuff like this is gonna be usually skewed to TD’s), 3.3 Y/A, and 3 sacks.
Only one with worse Completion Percentage was TLaw (didnt play the whole season), Anthony Richardson (Didnt play the Whole season) and Jameis Winston (Again, didnt play the whole season) and Geno Smith, with a slightly better completion percentage, but holy ■■■■.
Geno Smith was the worse of the starts with a 10 TD to 5 Ints (2 to1) which is horrific.
Overall, It’s in the bottom half atleast in terms of QB play in the Redzone, which is concerning
Injuries i know dont help, but the offense was very iffy the last quarter of the season.
Stafford is Stafford, that Arm is great, but i do think there are signs showing regression, which is expected for a QB in his late 30’s tbh.
Those ultra-white treatments are expensive – one more year…
Fixed, sort of.
He’s going into year 17, only 15 QBs have started more games than he has and if he starts another full season that number becomes 10. He’s in decline for sure.
The real issue is that he only has another $4 million guaranteed on this contract and he wants more. They’ll re-do his deal and he’ll play one more year I think.
I think a year or two yeah atleast
Kupp is a big question also, cause while i know he was injured this year, he only put up 100 yards his last 4 games.
He’s been invisible, and only having Puka as your big reliable Recieving target isnt… great.
Rams have some questions to answer, and Kupp might not be with them next season.
Hard to say.
Has the arm but his body…i wonder. I did not think he would be “contemplating” retirement at 36…figured he would do like the other greats and push it to 39-41 window.
I think he will try for sure, but if they add new weapons and the offense still looks stilted…
I dont think thats a McVay issue at that point.
Les Snead is a fantastic GM, and im sure he has a plan in place or in motion to deal wtih this, cause he knows that its coming sooner than later.

Yup - especially because he was only 14 years old when we drafted him.
If he can stay healthy 3 more years, he’ll pass Manning for 3rd all time in passing yards. Not bad considering he missed like all of 2010 with Calvin in his prime. He needs about 12,000 yards. One more 4,000 yard season will push him into abou5 6th place. I would think that (and winning another SB) could entice him back.
Stafford hasn’t thrown for 4000 yards in 4 years, nor has he completed three consecutive full seasons since 2018.
At this point anything above 25 solid starts over the next two or three years is probably gravy. Even then that’s going to put him in a very interesting position as far as Hall of Fame numbers
25 solid starts at 200 yd start gets him to fifth overall passing yardage all time, and 30 touchdowns only raises him one spot to 9th, but 44 ( the exact amount he has gotten over the past 2 full seasons) gets him to 6th.
I think he is in But he may not have been without that Super Bowl because He’s right in that statistical pocket with Rivers and Matt Ryan, who are the poster boys for illustrating that the increase in the passing game has led to numbers that are difficult to square historically with quarterbacks I think most people would say are clearly better than Rivers or Ryan
Stafford has a lot of years but his attempts are even more up there. He has some of the highest passing attempts in single season history. I don’t see the decline much though. More a decline in the Rams. He would have better career numbers had he stayed with the Lions.
That is what I see. Stafford is fully capable of 4000 if his WRs could stay healthy and his line doesn’t get him killed. Big Ifs I guess.
issue is their LT is a Free Agent, and he might get quite a bit of money
Rams can def still contend the next two years, but this offseason is important.
Kupp im worried about. Injury Prone as hell, and he’s starting to fall off it seems.
Cant just have Puka be their only reliable target right now.
food poisoning?? ----who knows where them pretzels have been !
