I was wondering… not fantasying!

Why did our back up QB stay here with the Lions and not go to Dallas and try for a starting job there?

I think he was one of our protected PS players. Which means we had to move him to the active roster or allow him to be plucked off our PS. We had the option.

My understanding is the Lions had the option to move him to the active roster. Which then means Dallas can not offer him a contract. Blough has no choice in the matter.

What I’m not sure on is how long we have to keep him on the active roster and when can we move him back to the PS. Not to mention if we do move him back to the PS can we still protect him? Meaning still have the option? This is where the new rules get a little fuzzy for me.
