Agree. Carroll had a horrendous record against Shanahan and McVay, but Macdonald has a reputation as a “Shanahan-slayer” - his defenses have had excellent results against offenses run by OCs and HCs from the Shanahan tree.
It seems like a really good fit organisationally as well. If any of this year’s hires are still in the job 10 years from now my bet is it will be him.
