Tough matchup for week 1 but no frozen tundra. I’ll take it.
You have to play them twice no matter where you finished the prior season, early is preferred.
Detroit’s offense usually struggles the first few weeks (their preseason). Last year 26 (in OT), 16, 20. Year before that it was 21, 31, 20. That is 134 points in 6 games (22 points a game). Our season average is considerably higher.
I would MUCH rather play Detroit at the beginning of the season.
Valid, but Bears at home week 1 then week 2 at Pack would be a lot cooler

Normally I’d agree but this team is built for toughness and grit. I don’t think cold weather hurts us vs GB. Maybe a better team though like Buffalo.
Love it love it love it!
Like Kerby said on Rich Eisen, get as many cold weather teams outta the way early!
I’ve got to stop playing those Jumble word puzzles. I read that as the Frozen Turd-na and it made perfect sense.
Spot on brother! any place any time. Shit we lost 3 games last year and all 3 were at home in the dome. I aint scared of the Packers in September or January!
We’ve won the first game the last couple of years. But there’s no denying our offense has come out looking pretty bad in those games. I blame the lack of reps in preseason as we don’t play our starters. We can’t really afford to come out looking like that against a division rival. The packers fans would be insufferable the entire season regardless of the final outcome.
Well, when the starters don’t play at all in the preseason it isn’t a surprise they come out a little slow in their first game.
Division games are always fun and stressful as ish but they’re also kind of annoying because rivals play twice but its the last game that matters.
