S Windsor: Jameson Williams doesn't have to be perfect. But he does need to grow up

NO where in that article does it mention that Tyreek Stevenson tripped and spit on Jamo!!!

Jamo showed amazing restraint not to pop that sucker in the mouth!

Haters going to hate.

Overreaction? You made two posts focusing on those three things. Good intent, which I do believe you have, doesn’t negate that fact. Calling those three things trivial is not an overreaction.

I certainly try to be consistent. We’re all humans all fall short, but consistency is something I try to strive for.

Yes, it’s silly because it presupposes a bunch of things. That’s why your following paragraphs goes on to list a bunch of hypotheticals that no ones has the answers to. What if this? What if that?

If his sleep habits were an issue, why haven’t we heard about them before? He isn’t getting in trouble for being lazy/slow in practice because of them, he isn’t getting in trouble for being late to practice. You seem pretty eager to come up with all of these questions for how his sleep could be effecting him with absolutely zero proof of it. Yes, it’s silly.

Fantastic! I agree with pretty much everything in this section. And I do agree, Jamo’s off-field behaviors or not, it’s going to come down to a business decision because the Lions simply don’t have money to keep everyone.

Sure, if there were EVIDENCE of him staying up late having a negative effect on his performances, that would be an issue. Surely, we can both come to the agreement that it’s an issue if there is evidence of something and purely speculation when there isn’t?

You’re trying to be cute with a “gotcha” that isn’t the same thing.

If Jameson was late to practice and it was an issue, I am of the opinion that we would almost certainly know about it. He’d get benched, reduced role, someone in the media would say something. We’re going to pretend that a guy who has the largest of microscope on him is somehow have attendance issues without it being known? Sorry, not buying it.

You’re so worried about trying to get a gotcha that you are willing to pick and choose which parts of my arguments to consider.

In that post, I outlined his suspensions because Nate highlighted those as reasons to form a pattern. My response was to address my thoughts on each suspension. It has nothing to do with the silly, “Jamo won’t go on a podcast”, “Jamo eats ice cream”, or “Jamo stays up too late” stuff sprinkling on top. That stuff is still silly.

You can think what you want. Bottom line is this for me:

Gambling suspension? It’s a bullshit suspension. For many reasons. Did it cost him games? Yep. But I’m not going to pretend like it’s some sort of revelation of Jamo’s character.

PES suspension? With the available information, it’s the same as above. It’s a stupid procedural suspension. Says nothing to me about Jamo’s personal character to me.

I’m not going to take two things that I think are actually relatively tame and mild (other than their outcome getting him suspended) and honestly bullshit, and then start grouping things like not doing a podcast, eating ice cream, and sleeping habits to paint Jamo with this broad character issue brush.

The most egregious thing he’s done off the field was not have a CPL and the most egregious thing he’s done on the field is flip a ball at a defender. That’s my opinion.

I do find most Applebees to be rather diverse.

That is a little strange. He seems to get along well with St. Brown from watching mic’d up segments. You don’t have to be best buds off the field but your observation kinda surprised me. I’m sure they invite him.

If Jamo is in fact neurodivergent, and personally I do think him having severe ADHD is a fairly real likelihood, then it is very possible that he might face extreme anxiety when facing the prospect of unknown social dynamics especially something that is both as public and as spontaneous as a St. Brown Bros. Podcast.

Jamo got tripped out of bounds by the same guy that was baiting him all game hand to the face after the whistle a shove after the whistle. Refs were letting first extra curricular go all day. He was doing a good job not retaliating all game but the trip out of bounds was the straw that broke the camels back.
He tried to explain to the coaches they had none of it and I think he gets it.

And for the record, while what Jamo did was foolish, what Stevenson did to piss him off was even worse (and couldn’t be seen as well on the broadcast angle), and far worse than the Jack Campbell hit the Bears have got their knickers in a twist over:

That is dirty af. We’re lucky Jamo didn’t get hurt.

I did not notice that live…what a pussy ass bitch. Just like the QB. He’s not even in the game. Clearly done on purpose. ■■■■ that guy. Should have been 15 yards on the bears

I doubt anyone really noticed it live. Just looked like Jamo responding to some trash talk. It turns out it was much worse than that.

This should be taken care of next Bears game by one of our OL if possible

He coulda easily ■■■■■■ up his ankle on that. #31 is slingshotting him out of bounds, he’s not expecting to be tripped.

Ok I was wrong to chastise Jamo in the moment and blame him without all the knowledge.

It was still foolish by him, but I do not think it’s a big deal and with what Dan said, he is ALL GOOD in my books!

Ankle, knee, Achilles… anything can happen.

The is the same idiot that was trash-talking the Washington crowd while the Hail Mary was happening behind him. I can assure you he wouldn’t be long for OUR roster, but I suspect it’s par for the course over there.

Right. Ass clown. ■■■■ the Bears. The game in soldier field is gonna be intense I think. Bears season is ■■■■■■ so they are gonna be playing dirty all game cause they are jealous of our success

Either way, I think anyone who really takes Jamo to task for this is missing the point. In fact I think he showed a shitload of restraint.

He blew a snot rocket on Jamo too. They were talking about it on one of the sports channels.

If you look close at the play, you can see it.

Well, TBF, no one did, that’s why I noticed as I went back and checked before making the comment. I am glad no one did. I am not trying to take away from the conversation, just point some people are making ignorant comments. I made the comment, no one else did, I do not normally throw that card out, actually, first time ever in a public venue. I am just tired of the names people are throwing at this kid. And when you throw in what I know from the things I hear…JAMO is a good kid. He acts like a kid, he has a huge heart and he means well. He is not a criminal. He stays home and games and is on social media. He is not out clubbing. Even the CPL, he was hanging out with his brother. Am i the only person who has gone over the speed limit in Michigan, c,mon. There are places on 94 around ann arbor/jackson etc where it’s 75 and no one is going 75.

But again, I am sorry that your articulated and well thought out arguments in defense of JAMO got lumped in mine.

And like i said earlier the audio was “get up you fing B@tch”

So you wanna chastise him for throwing a football, fine, and warranted. But how many of us would have gotten up and thrown a punch.

He showed more restraint then I would have and I am twice his age!

As I age I have little time for BS like that and wouldn’t have taken it as long as Jamo did…so all I can say is that it’s a non issue to me if I was in charge!
