We are going to miss Brian Branch. No doubt. BUT…I am excited to see what a healthy Daniel Thomas can do as a starter. Brian is 27 years old and was a 5th rd. draft pick of the Jags in 2020. Only 4 games started though. Special team demon. This IS his shot. I think he is ready. 5’10” and 215 pounds. Dude is gonna bring it the rest of the season. I thought he looked jacked on Thursday.
I am also comfortable with Maddox in the Kerby role. Not as good but I’m sure these young guys are crazy excited. They are ready. They are experienced.
If you would’ve asked me in the off-season, who would be a good prospect to take his snaps, I would have guessed Strickland. But, things don’t seem to have progressed for Stricklands the way I thought they would, even to the point of being cut several times.
Daniel Thomas is a depth safety signed by Holmes. #2. He played when Branch went down. Daniel is the likely SS starter replacing Branch.
Maddox at Kerby’s FS spot and Daniel Thomas at BB SS spot. I think Thomas is 27, was a Jags 5th rd. pick in 2020 I believe and he likely gets a starting shot here. I’m excited to see what he can do. 5’10” and 215+ pounds.
I agree - I think Kerby and Maddox at safety with Amik and Reed as outside starters, with Rock coming in in 3 CB packages as an outside CB while Amik slides to nickel - I truly do think that’s a secondary we can win big games with.
