Saleh Interview has been completed

Let’s hope right?!? I would love to see him or Marvin Lewis as Head Coach. Daboll doesn’t seem to be on their radar…which I think is too bad.

I’ve never heard of any of these people on Twitter before, as a disclaimer. Just saw these on a Lions fanpage on Instagram and thought I’d share for fun. Could be fake.

if it isn’t a verified bluecheck account i wouldn’t pay any attention to it…Jimmy G’s account is most likely a fan account like the General Luck/General Stafford account.

Again, I have absolutely no idea if these are true or not. Just putting them out there.

How could we not trust info from an account named for Jimmy G’s Penis? Seems legit to me.

i get that. And I am showing you a way to verify if it is fake or not…aside from the handle of the name or scrolling through the rest of the accounts tweets…

Not everybody that should have a check has a check, especially from a reporting perspective. That said, I totally understand your point. When Rappaport or Schefter says something, we’ll pay more attention.

Well, jimmy G’s junk is clearly not a blue check or reliable. :joy:

I think Saleh or Lewis will be the next HC and i’d be good with either one.

I guarantee you that they are trying to confirm any and all rumors like this.

I believe Saleh is our top choice and Lewis is our backup choice.

I predict the Lions will pass on Saleh.

Or do you mean Saleh will pass on the Lions ?

I think Saleh is our top choice and the only way he doesn’t end up here is if he chooses ATL or the NYJ over us.

I have thought for a long time that the pick would be Saleh, my guess is that if he is the choice, they want to make sure that their GM pick is also on board with the hire. I realize that Rod said they could hire the head coach first, and they very well may, but I would imagine you don’t want to end up in a situation where the GM and HC are constantly bumping heads on things or have animosity towards one another because they weren’t happy to have aligned together in the organization. My guess is that we will know who the HC and GM are by early next week. We COULD wait until the postseason is over or at least a little closer to being over but I doubt they want to wait that long and there are lots of good options available currently anyhow.

There’s one thing that’s floating in the back of my mind on Saleh vs Lewis.

Let’s say they really like Saleh. But the experienced GM’s whom they targeted to pair with him like Schneider, Dobbs and Smith (all have ties to him) aren’t interested in DET or didn’t give the FO the warm fuzzy feeling they hoped for.

I do not think the Lions want to pair a first time HC and GM together.

So let’s say that the GM’s who stick out as the best candidates are first time GM’s like Brad Homes, George Patton or someone in house. That would make me think they’d want to pair him with an experienced HC and Lewis would be preferred over Saleh in this scenario.

Honestly, I am happy with either. I might actually be leaning toward Lewis outright just a little simply because of the “been there, done that” factor. I really do like Saleh, but he is still an unknown to a degree as a head coach and the next coach could be the difference between this thing getting fixed in 2 years or 6-7 years (provided they get the NEXT regime after this failed one correct if it does indeed fail this time around).

Agree completely here. I think the Lions would be best served to either hiring an experienced GM and an experienced coach. If Selah is the guy they want, then they need to pair him with an experienced GM for sure. If they can’t get Selah, and Lewis is your backup option, then hire him and you can then pair him with a less experienced GM. Lewis has had football operations experience, he did a lot of the management for Cincy.

I do not want to see a first time GM and HC for this hiring cycle. This team needs experience.

I’m not positive that they wouldn’t look at Paton’s 16 years and being a long term number two as valid on the job experience. I could still see a Paton/Saleh match. I believe it comes down to the Lions wanting people that really want to be here.

As much as the coach I would really like to know who the OC and DC would be for each. They could be as important as the head coach
