Imagine being the ford family. You buy a franchise for 4.5 million coming off a dynasty run. You then destroy the brand with losing football for half a century and you can still sell the team for $5-6 billion. That’s a hell of an investment return.
It easily could’ve gone the other way… The XFL lost $60 million in 2023, the Brooklyn Nets were losing $400k per day a decade ago, the Coyotes went bankrupt and had to be purchased by the NHL… Sometimes you hit the lotto like investing early in bitcoin, Apple, etc… Sometimes you lose it all
