MLF’s offense has been really good lately, they clearly are all on the same page and have dialed up the perfect playcalls for Jordan Love to thrive
Joe Barry is still bad, and you can tell hes super reliant on the front four to do everything, cause they casually get run over by running teams (run defense is still bad on the packers, pass D is solid, legit cause they stacked that unit)
it will be funny if Joe Barry is still DC in Green Bay next year.
The WR screens kill me or like yesterdays game when we were doing well running the ball with Monty and Gibbs (when Ragnow was still in) we get up 21 and then the next 2 drives nothing. They werent stopping our run game at the time but then we got all cute and 2 stalled drives.
I said weeks ago that they need to use Jamo more some reverses some crossers give him a go route against man coverage with say Laporta on his side to pull the safety down. Use him like Tyreek.
I don’t know, man, seems like someone peed on your wheaties this morning, @socko
I also like to review the Net points and find them to be somewhat revealing, especially as we get later in the year.
Our Net is equal to Philly right now at 41. Minny was clearly a house of cards last year with a negative Net.
Just seems like you didn’t even look, unless I’m just misinterpreting what you’re saying completely.
I preferred our defense effort against the Saints to the Packers game and definitely as compared to the Bears game. At least in this one we saw one half of high end play.
That’s what bothered me as well. We are up 21-0 averaging over 8 yards per carry. We then go 3 and out and 4 and out with only one of those seven plays being a run. That one run went for 13 yards. So it was three passes and a punt. And then a 13 yard run and 3 passes and a punt. How does that even happen? Don’t play with your food, Ben!
Hopefully our All-22 guy spotlights what changed. Martz mentioned they went to 5-man fronts and Dan mentioned they adjusted their game plan. So, there’s a little bit of a chess game going on there.
See the funny thing is I actually think the defense would be better with less structure. Simplify things. Let our guys play faster. This is just my guess but I think Glenn is a really smart defensive coach but I don’t think he’s practical about what is worth noting to his players and what will just unnecessarily give his players paralysis by analysis.
Like the rushing the passer against mobile QBs. I think they’re totally justifiable in trying to get the rushers to try and “squeeze the balloon” but in practice they leave their pass rushers in a position in which their rush plan becomes simple, expected and unsuccessful.
There are plenty of examples like this.
BUT I do think talent in the secondary is a big issue.
Agreed. Paschal, Cominsky, Romeo and Charles Harris have combined for about 3 sacks this year. Just getting no more production opposite Hutch. Nice to see Bruce making plays immediately. Doesn’t say much.for the other 4 I just mentioned though
