I appreciate the work Zylstra puts in, and it’s clear that Dan likes him on the team, but I wonder at what point does this club outgrow the Zylstra’s of the league? He’ll have his chance to compete in camp, but color me a skeptic from an athletic standpoint …

I think your right on Zylstra, seems like a practice squad guy that can be called up if we are dinged up and he could fill in the red zone packages.
I doubt we’d keep 4 TE + a FB
If he’s gonna make it at WR he’s gonna have to beat out Greene, Benson, Kennedy etc

I like Zylstra. He’s been a good fit and fill in TE.
Not going to comment on whether he stays, goes, changes position or hairstyles.
When it comes to TE, I’m never right.

I think its just some low level employee trying to think for themselves and listed him at the same weight he was listed at in college. But hey, maybe he’s making a switch after losing Chark.

I don’t see him beating out LaPorta/Mitchell/Wright so its probably his best shot. We don’t really have a big bodied WR on the roster so there is a niche available if he can make a successful transition. Likely he ends up as a practice squad guy this year.

Would love to see Iffy transition back to outside corner. He had some good reps there as a rook.

Perhaps, the 2023 draft where the Lions traded three third day draft picks for one second day draft pick is an indication of that.
Don’t see how Tom Kennedy makes it anywhere but on the practice squad.

Yep, agreed he even had a few good reps vs Davante Adams back in 2021 when he was playing corner. The biggest issue hasn’t really been the position though, he’s another one of these dudes that is always hurt or banged up. His brother is the same way, always hurt.

We did draft Green in round 7. I’d assume he’s going to get a shot. Although no lock to make the roster by any means.

What? He’s fast, and all he does is make plays when others are injured. He’s the best backup on the team.
