I was at an Iowa State/Colorado game in Boulder, snowing big time. Iowa State was on the 7 and tried a FG, and it was short. It went up, it went down. At an IOWA/Northern Iowa game UNI had a chance to win the game. 3rd down, they chose to try a FG. It was blocked, they recovered and called time out. They try again, it was blocked again. I think both of those might be records.
