Sorry not directed at you @DeadDog I saw this on reddit yesterday and got a big chuckle because they mention a youtuber getting upset about it. Which to me takes away the credibility of the article. My guess is the org banned SI for bad journalism or they broke rules…

7000+ articles and 100,000+ tweets since 2019?? This dude wasn’t a journalist. He was flooding shit onto the internet just trying to get clicks and/or exposure.

As an out of state Lions fan I am always looking for Lions news, and I still had to block Lions on SI articles from appearing on my Google feed because they were always garbage.

My implied thoughts are in this vein….

Be a dick and get circumcised

Of the SI reporters, he seemed the least talented.

That’s 1,000 articles a year. Roughly 20 articles a week. 3 a day, every day.

I could MAYBE pump out that kind of volume for a while depending on the article size but for seven years straight?? How do you not burn out or run out of stuff to write about?

You just make shit up basically

I thought John was often a clownish, unprofessional asshat. Some of his press conference questions towards Dan were cringe worthy.

Keep in mind that they were “articles”. So much filler in his pieces. The guy was the anti-Justin Rogers.

YouTube is the worst for that. The Clickbait title will say something like “This move changes everything for the Lions Defense”

Then once you click on the video they talk about a practice squad guy that intercepted a pass off a 3rd string QB during the pajamas party in mini cap. Ground breaking stuff. :joy:

Most seemed to be highly unrealistic trade scenarios with titles like “Likely Lions Trade upcoming,” and the meat of the article was that the Lions were trading all their players and draft picks for Myles Garret.

One of my favorites is “The Lions just signed a secret weapon the league didn’t see coming”

Tom Kennedy for sure!
