It took me WAY longer than it should have to realize that dollar stores are essentially just inflation-adjusted five-and-dimes from back in the day.
By the way, I can still tell you to this day what a GI Joe figure cost at my local Ben Franklin dime store when I was a kid: $3.23 ($2.99 + 4% sales tax).

I think inflation is really going to screw with the cannabis smokers. What’s a dime bag now? What’s a quarter? How do you measure this out? Does weed inflate too? Or is it just like, the money you pay for it man?

I’d assume that they’ve kept the old terminology and everyone changed their expectations to match what they are actually getting. Kind of like how you still say you are going to the home improvement store to pick up some 2x4s, even though they haven’t actually measured a full 2 inches by 4 inches for quite some time.

EDIT: I did my math backwards. It’s definitely a downgrade in pay by the tune of $.30.
