Man I didn’t watch the whole game but every time I looked I saw Slay was getting beat by a rookie . He has seriously dropped off . I would definitely trade him or move on .
I didn’t keep a close eye on him. How is he running wise? Is he running slower than usual? Hammy?
I still contend that a DB’s only as good as their pass rush.
The team has given up on this staff. It’s obvious since day 1.
Did you watch the game?
His heart just isn’t in it, and frankly, I don’t blame him. When you see zero fucks given by management, year after year, it has to be hard to give a fuck yourself.
Yep. This. I don’t think the team cares much for the staff, and it’s clear the shit from last year has carried over. It isn’t as though Slay, a veteran, was just making shit up when he said it’s a copycat league and the Lions trot out the same bullshit defense every game. I appreciate people who don’t tote the line, especially when they know it’s bullshit. The GM is bullshit and the coach is bullshit, and they both need to go. Now.

► Q: Has MP lost the locker room? - @Betty241
► A: There’s been no change on this front. Those who support Patricia, which is the overwhelming majority of the locker room, continue to be steadfast. There are a handful of others, such as Darius Slay, who play the game with the same effort and energy regardless of who is calling the shots, and there’s been no signs of additional dissension from that MINORITY.
I remember they interviewed Amari Cooper years ago when the Broncos had that great run to the Super Bowl on the backs of their defense…in particular a ferocious pass rush. They addressed the question to ask him why the secondary was so great (Talib, Harris, etc). He basically said they weren’t, and he gets open alot against them. Its just that by the time he gets open, the damn pass rush has already crashed thru and destroys the play. So he ends up having to run a bunch of quick hitter routes that they know is coming so they jump them.
It’s not easy to give a shit as a player when your team is staring at 3-12-1. Some guys do, the ones in their contract year or guys playing for a job next year. In Slay’s case, I think he believes his value won’t drop no matter how he plays out this season. Not saying he ain’t even trying, there’s some pride left in his standing as an elite corner, but he doesn’t look like the same guy we saw 2 years ago. IMHO, he wants out of Detroit and he wants a big fat contract somewhere else.
Meh, don’t care if he doesn’t love his job with his company. Only like everybody in the world deals with. Only difference is he gets 10M plus to do his. He should do his job for his employer and stop whining. If you are the type that “mails it in” for whatever reason you feel justified as a reason, I’m looking for his replacement most ricky tick.
Detroit shot down his contract negotiations. Detroit dumped his buddy and team captain.
Detroit has the worst defense in the league.
Detroit is going to have yet another losing season.
Yeah, good luck finding his replacement. These guys have a choice where they play. Who the fuck wants to go to a perennial loser in a cold climate and high tax state?
If you’re going to play for a shitty team, Miami and Jacksonville are the places to go. Then, the Texans, or Titans.
Detroit was already at the bottom of the list when it comes to desirable teams to play for.
Oh, but, they do have a cushy facility…filled with assholes that don’t know football at the top and those that don’t know how to win at the bottom.
All great selling points, right?
Dream on!
