We need to talk about these darn sliding mitts the base runners are using these days. I swear some guy is gonna have a 5 foot oven mitt out there soon. I was watching some spring training highlights and it’s getting comical how big some of the mitts are getting.
It’s getting ridiculous. Gonna be able steal 2nd base standing on first pretty soon..
There’s not a regulation on how big the mitts can be? I didn’t know that.
They are considered PPE, so much like Barry Bond’s M1 Abrams elbow guard, there is no size restriction. Trey Turner is the one that stands out to me, everytime that guy is in a close slide play Iit looks like the extra 4 inches saves him. Needs to be regulated.
