Booker was not my first choice but after defending him in here for over the last 4 days only for it to fall on deaf ears, I would love nothing more than to make him our 1st round pick. In fact I hope Brad trades up to get him and stands at the podium and says he had the best tape we ever saw from an OG. It’s not likely to happen but I would be dancing in the street.

Thats all i am saying brother. When Ben got into trouble it was when he was forcing guys to pull and do somethinf they couldn’t bc of injury or athleticism or lack of experience. He didn’t adjust when our backups were in and couldn’t do what our starters could. Or graham was struggling bc of injury. I just have a hard time believing booker is gonna be able to do it…its why mahogany us so bad ass…short leg and all.

Mahogany was labeled by many as a phone booth dirtball guy prior to last years draft. We did not draft him based on a RAS score. We had interest in Powers-Johnson. I think there could be some misconception in what the Lions like in an IOL.

They definitely have to be tough, but that doesn’t always come in a burly package. They clearly liked Kingsley enough to offer him guaranteed money to come here, and while he’s not the biggest guy in the world, his toughness is outstanding.
Also, while Mahogany was sometimes pegged as a phone booth guy, I pretty consistently said he showed waaaay better juice than that on tape. You kinda had to go back before the torn ACL to really see it, but to me he was always one of those elite combos of juice + toughness/strength that tend to go early. We got so lucky the league freaked out about something so silly.

We were out on him before the draft. He impressed at the senior bowl. I don’t think there is a misconception on what the lions want on the offensive line.

I mean since we’re doing rumors, all the smoke out of Houston is that they love Booker, so I think it’s quite possible he’d require a trade-up anyway.
