Snap count notes: How Detroit replaced the injured Lions in Week 4

Jamo had a career high—even more than ARSB.

Think it speaks to what the lions believe w their guys. Jamo got the gameball and the first thing dan mentioned was his blocking. People asked about davis and dan was effusive w praise of him and all the things he was doing right. So there js a certain player who can’t seem to get on the field and did one thing really well, but struggles elsewhere…think this kinda supports the rationale. Jamo had a 70 yard run where he literally throttled down at the 40 and the thing Dan praised was his blocking downfield.

Just another observation, only 1 pass attempt to Lions running backs last night.

With so few offensive plays, the defense was on the field a lot. Detroit’s defense had 90 snaps, the highest of any team that’s won a game all year. Keep in mind that plays negated by penalty don’t count, so the Lions defense was out there for 99!

That is crazy…no wonder the defense looked so exhausted.

“James Houston had his biggest outing of the season with 14 reps.”

And offsides on two of those.

Yea he finally got a chance… The coaches won’t be happy with the mental errors

It’s hard to get the timing down, being a DE, when only playing less than part time.

Plus he’s fired up…wants to make a game changing play instead hurts the defense twice.

With a 40 yard average. :joy:

We don’t have to make excuses, Houston is not playing well.
He is practicing everyday just like everyone else.
I know he is not getting many in game reps but when players get in the first game of the year they don’t have 2 off-sides penalties.
I think he was only activated and got the snaps he did because so many were injured and Seattle ran so many plays and guys were exhausted.
Houston is the ONLY non-starter to get scrimmage reps and not any Special Teams reps.
I. Williams & Manu were the only healthy inactives.
Sorsdal & A. Robinson were active and didn’t play.
I see Houston in the bucket with these guys.
Branch is likely to be back after the bye, there is a chance Ragnow returns as well.
BroMart & Mahogany will likely return for their 21 day practice windows after the bye as well.
Houston needs to turn some heads when he gets in the game because the Lions will soon need those active slots and even roster spots in the next month.

I want to see Manu on some goal line snaps. Line him up with very close splits and just have him plow forward…

I can not help but think that if he becomes a top half Oline starter that he was an absolute steal.

And it didn’t go to the guy most people would have thought of.
