It is amazing, to me, the refusal of the coaching staff to take Anzalone off the field. He is not that good. Anzalone complained last year that the reason for his missed tackles was being tired, well he is still on the field for practically every snap, game-1 92% of defensive snaps at 71 and an additional 6 ST totaling 77 snaps, game-2 91% of the defensive snaps at 69 and an additional 2 ST totaling 71 and this week 99% of the defensive snaps at 71 an additional 6 ST totaling 77. Why not get fresh legs in for the last series, maybe a LB blitz with those fresh legs. This was obviously one of Anzalone’s better games, however a tired Anzalone can’t be better than some of the fresh legs on the bench. This is another coaching blunder in my opinion. The coaching staff refusal to take him off the field will eventually cost the team, and may have in this game who knows what fresh legs would have accomplished. I have often contended that Anzalone is Campbell’s pet, this is more proof of the same. He has other pets on the team also Pittman, he is terrible too, but now playing in front of Barnes, Williams getting 4th, down snaps in front of Swift and taking his TDs. Campbell wants to prove that he can take less talented players, motivate them and win games, he will soon learn he needs talent not pets. Not to mention he will lose the trust of his team.
