So I think we need to assume Kerby is Toast

So I am dumb as dirt on this kind of thing but what do they do when they replace a knee? What is wrong with Kirby’s knee that a new one would not fix?

Honestly though if it’s a chronic knee injury which has been reported. He’s gonna be playing in pain the rest of his career. That’s if he plays at all. Kinda like Decker with his ■■■■■■ up shoulder. Can’t practice, get some pain injections on game day and try to play or retire, those are basically the options.

I think there is a big difference between knee replacement for 60 year old factory worker and knee replacement for an NFL level athlete. We can make it so you can walk again pain-free, but play in the NFL? JMO without looking it up.

It really isn’t possible to play a pro sport that requires running after a knee replacement.

Running is not good for the plastic parts in the knee replacement, and high impact activities may shorten the lifespan of the joint.

Knee replacements may last about 20-25 years with low stress on them. A 2nd replacement can be done if a younger patient needs the original replaced, but they may have a higher risk of complications.

I’m a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with my 26 year career primarily been in Upper Extremity/Hand Experience. I’ve treated patients head to toe.

IMO and I’ve given this noncommittal update answer a lot! I don’t know the outcome and neither do the Lions.

To me, Dan is saying what he only knows to be true at this moment. We have done everything that we can possibly due and Joseph has as well. We won’t know until we start to ramp up and go full speed. No need to do that till training camp. Stay tuned.

wish they would’ve asked a hypothetical. If today was start of camp, would Joseph be cleared to start to go full speed or not?

Once we get to camp either Joseph will ramp up and get full speed or PUP. He will get one more chance to have ramp up or IR.

I believe the Lions planned to not have Joseph and Branch later in the year. Anything from Joseph is bonus!

I don’t have a positive outlook for Joseph long term but we’ve had minimal updates so…

If he can’t get on the field in walk through sessions I have a difficult time believing he’s anywhere near ready to play an actual game.

Not Kerby related. But I read Arnold is not practicing either. What’s up with him?

He is at the craps table looking for his stolen Bible.

WAIT, I mean his Not Girlfriend and buddies are at the craps table looking for his stolen Bible.

.

I’d guess… he’s at least 3 months away from being ready. :smirking_face::wink::open_mouth:

Damn, forgot about Gurley. Your right this is Todd 2.0

Kerby is cooked.

Branch I think needs to go back to NB after PUP.

Our best Safety’s on the roster, IMO

Maddox & Clark. I liked Rock Ya Sin reps last year there too.

Izien & Harper backups

I’m guessing his career is pretty much over. This feels like ragnow’s toe 2.0

Dammit, that’s a good rap rhyme lyric

Well Ragnow managed to still play in pain for a couple years and was still good. So I hope It’s Ragnow 2.0. That would honestly be best case scenario I think.

Maybe they are waiting for training camp to start so he can give it a go one more time just to see.

Or maybe he’s in Germany getting that synthetic cartilage injection thing. Thought I briefly read about that somewhere but maybe I made it up.

We won’t know until we know

I like the way you think. Send him to Germany and China. Get him some experimental surgery and drugs. What do we have to lose? Maybe even get him licking some of Natty’s magic toads.
