Missing a knee is a little worse than a painful toe.
I busted my hand bad and my ring finger was in terrible pain for a while but I could work through it. If my knee didn’t work that is another thing.

Isn’t that what Peyton manning did? He went somewhere in Europe and got something done and came back and all of sudden his back/neck wasn’t broken anymore! Or whatever his injury was lol, but I’m almost positive he did the same thing.
Why not Kerby?? Go get some new cartilage! And stop in Amsterdam on the way home and lick some toads!

It was Frank’s big toe, which pretty much eliminates all of his power.
I have had issues with my big toe (MTP joint), and can’t walk with a normal stride when it is inflamed.
Over 40% of force is handled through the big toe.
It isn’t a minor joint.

Not to mention Rock Ya-sin is probably one of our better DBs. If TA and Reed are both ready to go, that leaves Rock on the bench, because we have better slot options. I don’t think that is lost on the staff. I think he has an outside shot at a starting role at one of the safety slots depending on how things are shaking out with Branch and Kirby.

Peyton still had major loss of strength due to his neck issues.
His arm strength was never the same.

Ahh ok I remember that now, thanks for clarifying. However he was on the verge of retiring and the treatment he had allowed him to come back and play a couple more years still, right? So it wasn’t a complete rejuvenation but it bought him more time?
I’m not sure where Peyton had his procedures performed…
but he had a herniated disk in his neck that was causing him major loss of arm strength.
He eventually had to be ruled out for the season in 2011, and the. had a cervical disc fusion procedure sone (the 3rd procedure on his neck).
That procedure allowed him to eventually return to the NFL in 2012 after his trade to the Beoncos.

Maddox can focus full time at Safety, where we need him.
Maddox, Rock, Clark, Harper, Izien is still a deep group with quality players

Kerby went down mid October. We are 7 months later. If we dont even have a rough timeline at this point thats worrisome.

The problem is Kerby has 2+ years of money guaranteed still
Mika parsons went down around that time. And they already have a clear window of when they expect him back

Yeah I guess it could be worse, but it sucks to lose two studs at the same time. No matter who is filling in we are going to be taking a step back in the secondary. Add to this that we still dont know if TA will be any good and we also dont know if Reed will bounce back from last years abysmal play. Defense is gonna be a real concern.

Sadly It’s not just Kerby and Branch. One of Holmes first signings was extending Tracy Walker. He Immediately blew his achilles which basically ended his career. Back in the day Delmas looked real good too before his knee exploded. That safety position has been a nightmare once we draft a guy. Oh and I forgot about Iffy. who was always hurt.

This whole situation and discussion makes we wonder if teams have figured out some measurable on if I player will get injured. It is truly just bad luck or is there some way to predict based on how a player players or their physical make up.
I mean I am pretty sure Hutch has 2 metal shins. That is kind of crazy. So clearly either his physical make up or style of play has caused this reality.
This sounds like a really good project for some pointy head to figure out.
